Just watched The Girl Who Played with Fire. Not as good as the first one, but eventful nonetheless. Can't wait for the third installment!

Nice. I just saw the first one and thought it was really good. Want to see the second.

Watched Bitch Slap this weekend on BR. Absolutely horrible. Many of the former Hercules/Xena cast&crew appear & write/direct/produce.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but this wasn't it. There's over-the-top, there's nonsensical, there's bad green screen, there's a near PG-13 script, but the combination of all this is... unwatchable.

Yeah it was...less than it could have been. Still think it had a few moments though. But overall...fail.

So I took the wife and kids to see Toy Story 3 yesterday. I enjoyed it and it was a typical Pixar film, which means it was over the top well done and good. But was anyone else a bit disappointed with them (and Disney) having made it?? I mean I just didn't think it needed to be made. I would have loved if they had left after Toy Story 2 and let my imagination believe they "lived happily ever after" with Andy. Just one of those things I guess for me.
Also finally succumbed to my wife and kids desire to watch Twilight last night. I refused to the point so long where the wife finally started to browbeat me into watching. You know the old "the kids watch all the geek stuff you like, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings, etc. You owe them to watch their movie." I haven't read the stories and won't be seeing the movies in the theaters but I will watch the second and third. I thought the first movie was visually pretty good but the story was a bit too dramatic for me. Definite chick flick. Anyway I was a good dad, for at least one night! ;-)

I thought I was the only person that felt like Toy Story 3 really didn't need to be done. It's kinda like how I feel about the Matrix trilogy. If they would have just left it at the first movie, I would be good. So I would have been totally fine with everything stopping at Toy Story 2. I was hoping the toys would end up with his kids at least so it could at least stay in the family. I'm a softie, I thought Toy Story 3 was a little too dark and disturbing. (I thought my toys came alive when I wasn't around.) I definitely wanted a happier ending.

Watched Sunshine Cleaning over the weekend. I thought it was pretty good, I was expecting more gross crime scene clean up than what it actually, had but I think Emily Blunt is cute so it makes for it.

Been a while since watching something without violence, so it was a nice change of pace for a loungy Sunday. Peaceful (well, mostly), slow, pretty, touching, sad, inspiring, and very well done I thought.

So I followed up the Twilight home screening with a viewing of New Moon last night (my youngest practically dragged me down the hall to watch!). I will say that Stephanie Meyer (sp?) writes interesting stories but man this series is such a CHICK FLICK! It was almost too hard to watch. The wolves were cool though.

I told them they are just too much romance for me. Almost like Interview With A Vampire. As much as I wanted to get into these types of stories they were totally written for women.
