Neil Peart

Completely shocked. After losing his first wife and daughter, and later remarrying and having another daughter, Neil decided to retire to spend more time with his family and then comes down with terminal cancer within a few years. Such a shame.

I was at their last concert ever. Saw them about 10 times over the years. I don't think people realized how hard he hit the skins. He wasn't a finesse drummer by any means. He was just phenomenal musician.

I didn't know either. Just read that he had been living in Santa Monica. RIP

I pretty much listen to Rush on a weekly basis. A big band for us nerds.

RIP

I found out that he died during the Kings broadcast. Such very sad news. It wasn?t my 1st concert, but the 1st one I went to without adult supervision was Rush during the Power Windows tour at Irvine Meadows. So now with Neil joining John Bonham, Keith Moon, & Jeff Porcaro, all of my top 4 favorite drummers have died. Rest In Peace Neil.

My top 5 Rush drum tracks (what I listened to on my drive home from work tonight) :
1. Tom Sawyer
2. Subdivisions
3. Freewill
4. YYZ (Exit Stage Left version)
5. La Villa Strangiato

Finally, how many drummers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Three. One to do it & 2 to discuss how much better Neil Peart would?ve done it.

And finally finally, it?s pronounced Peert, not Purt.
