Hey everyone! Now I am a hardcore LA Kings fan but I am also a FANATIC Of the Washington Redskins. With the hockey season over, I wanted to know who do you guys support as a team? If you love NFL like I do, we can have some good discussions during the summer.
Since probably more than half of the members on this forum live in California, are you all Raiders fans or Niners fans?

Also, I happen to be a Texans fan... But also root for the Vikings any time they are playing (dad liked them when I was younger)

Rams left town, and I said screw um, I'm a Lions fan. Hasn't been easy, but I do think better times are ahead, if we can keep our better players out of jail, lol.

Hey, we beat the Cleveland Browns that year too, so you were in good company.
Seriously though, those were a really tough few years there for the Lions, I mean it's not like we were that good before that 2 year stretch but damn, 2 wins over two seasons, that was horrible.
Good luck this year with the Skins', they're for sure an up and coming team with good seasons ahead of them. Keep that quarterback of yours in good health though.

Oddly enough, the Chargers and Lions are two teams that I've always hoped would become better. And yes! We should do a fantasy football league here!!

Sources told ABC News that the home security system at Hernandez's home, along with his cell phone, were destroyed. Police were at Hernandez's home again Thursday with another search warrant based on evidence that Hernandez "destroyed his home security system," an investigator close to the case told ABC.
The investigator and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system was smashed intentionally. Hernandez's cell phone was handed over to investigators "in pieces" by his attorneys, sources added.
Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.
Wow. And the Patriots camp is not doing the usual 'we stand by...' crap. They are even more 'no comment' than usual. Really, what a tool bag if he had ANYTHING to do with this. How stupid are you? Aaron Hernandez of New England Patriots arrested - ESPN Boston (http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/9424056/aaron-hernandez-new-england-patriots-taken-police-custody)
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. -- Aaron Hernandez was arrested Wednesday morning, more than a week after an acquaintance of the New England Patriots tight end was found dead in an industrial park near his house.
Less than two hours following his arrest, Hernandez was released by the Patriots, who announced the transaction on their Twitter account.
The Bristol County District Attorney's office released a statement announcing Hernandez's arrest, although charges were not disclosed. Hernandez was arrested by Massachusetts State Police, who obtained the arrest warrant, and was booked at the North Attleborough police station.
Speculation has it since The Patriots cut ties so quickly that the situation is much worse than just obstruction. This story fascinates me. How big of a mook do you have to be? A father, living in a mansion...and here you are. This doesn't seem like a crime of passion(which although still stupid is at least more understandable) it seems like a case of an idiot trying to play tough guy with his 'boys'. Aaron Hernandez of New England Patriots charged with murder - ESPN Boston (http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/9424056/aaron-hernandez-new-england-patriots-charged-murder)
McCauley said the crime stemmed from a night out at a Boston club called Rumor on June 14. He said Hernandez was upset about certain things, including that Lloyd had talked to some people Hernandez "had troubles with."
Two days later, McCauley said, on the night of June 16, Hernandez texted two friends from out of state and asked them to hurry back to Massachusetts.
Surveillance footage from outside Hernandez's home showed him leaving with a gun, and he told someone in the house that he was upset and couldn't trust anyone anymore, the prosecutor said.
The three men picked up Lloyd at his home around 2:30 a.m., according to authorities. As they drove around, they discussed what happened at the nightclub, and Lloyd started getting nervous, McCauley said.
Lloyd texted his sister, "Did you see who I am with?" When she asked who, Lloyd answered, at 3:22 a.m., "NFL," then, a minute later, "Just so you know."
Within a few minutes after that, people working the overnight shift at the industrial park reported hearing gunshots, McCauley said.
Investigators did not specify who fired the shots and did not identify the two other people who were with Hernandez.
The details have been withheld for the most part, but that outline of events doesn't look good. They have security footage from neighborhood cameras and they searched a pond near his house so they may have found the gun. Add in the destroyed security system, the destroyed phone and the cleaning service scrubdown of his house and there is just no way that he walks on this.
If football players have learned anything...NEVER GO TO 'THE CLUB'.

I've been a Packer fan whole life. It was tough watching them stumble in the 70's and 80's but since the 90's started it's almost guaranteed that they will be one of the top teams and contenders for the Superbowl.
In general I am a huge NFL fan and enjoy watching any game as long as it is competitive. there are a few teams that I enjoy watching lose. Those include New England, Dallas, Oakland, Chicago and Pittsburgh. I was surprised about Hernandez but now seeing everything unfold and hearing about his past he will get everything he deserves. Just one more NFL star to throw his career away over doing illegal stupid things like Michael Vick.

New York Jets tipped refs on New England Patriots FG push - ESPN New York (http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/9862295/new-york-jets-tipped-refs-new-england-patriots-fg-push)
The New York Jets were aware of the New England Patriots' previous use of the illegal pushing technique on field goals, and they made sure Sunday's game officials knew it, too.
In fact, the Jets' sideline alerted the officiating crew during the game to watch out for it, a person familiar with the situation told ESPN.com Monday.
Sure enough, the Patriots were busted in overtime, and it cost them the game.
A penalty on Chris Jones, middle, gave the Jets new life in an eventual overtime win against the Patriots.
Publicly, the Jets said little about the matter. Coach Rex Ryan probably didn't want to come off as a tattletale, but he left little doubt Monday that he knew about the Patriots' practice, and he didn't deny blowing the whistle on them.

I really wish the Saints could beat the Seahawks. I really don't like them. The downside to the Seahawks losing would the Saints winning. I really don't like them either.
I also really don't like the Patriots.
In conclusion, GO NINERS!!!!!

Sorry Eck...Cardiac Cats vs Seahawks for the NFC.
And as far as AFC, don't count out Indy or San Diego...Patriots are beatable, and Broncos have SOOOOOO much pressure on them. Colts & Bolts are easy peasy living on house money.
And I was a huge 'Hawks fan for a long time, hate Pete the Cheat, but I still love the city. I really do hope my Panthers can make a run.

I'd love a Niners/Chargers Super Bowl, to be quite honest. But I don't see the Niners getting past Seattle, and I don't see the Chargers getting past either the Patriots or Colts

Yea, playing Seattle in Seattle again will be tough. Hopefully the Saints can help the Niners out.

Until the GM has a chance to rebuild the rest of that roster by losing dead money and bringing in more talent God hisself couldn't coach that team to a better record. May as well keep the current staff short term instead of paying out more dead money. Sadly, I think Allen has done as good as anyone with the mess he has on both sides of the ball. Hard for Raider fans but they are finally actually trending up. They were competetive in more games than not and outside of some serious collapses they were coached well enough. You guys need a quarterback instead of trying to cobble one together from castoffs and undrafted players but, once again, God hisself ain't doing much until they strengthen up the o-line some more. Patience...you have waited this long, whats another season or 2?

? Goodell said he could envision a time when players use medical marijuana to treat pain in states where it is legal: "I don't know what's going to develop as far as the next opportunity for medicine to evolve and to help either deal with pain or help deal with injuries," Goodell said, "but we will continue to support the evolution of medicine."
With the increasing legality it was bound to come up eventually. If it will only be allowed in states where it is legal that would give Denver an obscene heads up in the FA market. Personally I think it's all lip service and unless pot gets a complete US hall pass the NFL will keep saying the right thing while doing nothing.

I'm so sick of the "lack of talent" excuse when discussing Dennis Allen. The truth is unless you actually watch the games and know football, you'd just assume that the team lost 12 games again because of the salary cap issue.
But no, most of the losses were not due to the roster, but because of TERRIBLE coaching. Some games (KC, Philly) they were just outschemed from the start. It didn't seem like the coaching staff did ANY game planning or watch ANY film of the other team, they were completely unprepared for what happened. Some games (Washington, Dallas, etc) they actually did a good job in the 1st half or so... then the other team made in-game adjustments (as any GOOD COACHING STAFF does) to counter it... and as usual, Allen & Co. had no idea how to make adjustments to what the other team had changed, then the offense & defense both sputter in the 2nd half and lose the game.
Hell even the Pittsburgh game that we WON, these coaches were complete morons... they got a big lead, then Pitt's coaches tweaked some things at halftime to counter the Raiders' defense... and they scored on almost every possession in the 2nd half. They would've lost that game too, but Pitt just ran out of time on the clock. They were driving downfield to yet another 2nd-half TD when the clock ran out.
Not to mention the whole QB "I don't know who to use" situation... the bad clock management... the defense getting WORSE throughout the season... the same stupid excuses "we had a good week at practice" and "I don't know what happened out there" during the post-game conferences...
This guy should have never been hired, he has NO credentials at all to deserve his position.

Man...'9'rs fans gotta be upset. Thought for sure that drive was gonna end in the game winner. After Seattle couln't punch it in...TWICE to get the 2 score lead, I thought for sure they would lose. Especially when Kaepernick was just completing passes with ease. But that play by Sherman...if he swats the ball, the '9'rs get another chance, but that beauty tip drill play. Wow.
Tempted to agree with IDF, but then again San Fran should have beat Seattle for the same reasons. It all depends if the Legion of Boom can cancel out Manning's receivers. One thing to note, Denver is not scoring at will in the playoffs like they were in the regualr season. If they can stop Seattle from running the ball, that makes it tougher...but this is no lock. Lets hope for a good game.

Defense wins championships: Seattle's D > Denver's D. Also, if Lynch can run the ball like he did against the 49ers, then Russell doesn't have to have a great game for them to win. He just needs to take care of the ball and not make too many mistakes. Go Seahawks! Go Pete Carroll! Big Balls Pete!!

So I live in Seattle and really don't like the Hawks. I was rooting for the Niners and also thought that last drive was going to result in the game winning score. Oh well.
I don't like Denver much either (old Madden/Stabler/Raider fan - longtime Donkey hate) and after that game last night it really feels like it is the Hawks year. Hawks will do what they always do - run Lynch very heavy, look for the big play to Tate (or Harvin, if they are lucky) and have Russell protect the ball. Their defense is just dominant and they will challenge Peyton and the Bronc's passing game all game long. I think it really will be advantage Hawks there.
I heard the initial line was Hawks +1 but people started buying the Bronc's and it is now Broncos +1. Go along with the inferiority complex Seattle has going and the Hawks are going to come in with a real chip on their shoulders. Just hoping for a good game.

I have loved the Hawks...especially simce visiting your fine fine state Brother Roenick. Not the biggest fan of Pete the Cheat...but his players love him and after the mess he had with the Jets back in the day...I guess I am happy for him. I love the swagger. See Captain Marvelous, Tom Brady is denouncing Sherman's passion. You know what mr Clean...spygate. And since you have won NOTHING of note since then...howzabout you shut the **** up ya ****. Not a fan of guys who talk trash...fair enough, but to claim Little Miss Innocent while your championships are tainted...yeah, not really interested. Agree with you on the glory teams of Stabler/Tooz/Casper/etc broRoe...thems were fun times.

The refs screwed the Niners TWICE in that game.....oh well. Don't really care who wins, as long as it's as good as this game was. And while I don't like the Seahawks, or Pete Carroll, I got nothing against Sherman. Loved his comment even as he said it. That's one guy I wish played for the 49ers.

That's good. I actually think Incognito, while a neanderthal, is probably a good guy. All testimony from teamates seems to point to that. Feel bad for him actually. The knock on Martin was that he was 'sensitive', and in a lunkheaded way RI tried to take him under his wing.Doesn't excuse the fratboy/homophobic/bully(ish) mentality, but taken in context it makes more sense. I think Martin panicked...made a bad decision...and tried to find someone else to take responsibility. All around, it's sad and kind of a shame.
