David Beckham has chosen Miami as the location for a Major League Soccer franchise he hopes to own, according to Sky sources.
The former England captain is understood to have picked the Florida city as his final choice as he looks to move into ownership.
Beckham has an option to buy a franchise for $25m (?15.5m), although he faces strong competition from around the world if he is to realise his ambition to own an MLS club.
More than 12 investor groups have already registered their interest in buying an expansion team.
But the 38-year-old could have the advantage after his initial deal with Los Angeles Galaxy, which he signed as a player in 2007, included the clause that would enable him to purchase a franchise.
