Good topper. Hot and tasty. Kindof a nice Wasabi tinted creamy horseradish squeezer.
Kikkoman scores BIG.

I'll have to try those out, although I'm not a huge fan of Sriracha, I'm more of a Tapatio dude. Definitely a fan of Wasabi. Cholula is good, too, but I like Tapatio better. I also like creamy horseradish sauce for sandwiches. Also a big fan of sweet, hot beaver.

Listen up kids; ****'s about to get real up in here.
For use on fries, tater tots, a fantastic homemade thousand island dressing, burgers, eggs, corned beef hash, ice cream, whatever! OK, I was kidding about the ice cream. But this stuff is da bomb. It's usually in the food section of TJ Maxx, Ross stores, Marshalls, etc.

I pick up some of the Pepper Plant sauces every chance I get. Great on omelets, burgers,
and just about anything you can think of. Even the BBQ sauce has a little jalepeno to kick it up a notch.

https://ca.shine.yahoo.com/is-tabasco-s-new-sriracha-any-good-200541296.html
We snagged a bottle of the saucy new contender to see if Huy Fong has anything to be worried about.
At first glance, Tabasco?s version is much smoother and more viscous than Huy Fong?s. Tiny flecks of pulverized chili peppers are visible in Huy Fong?s vibrantly red sauce, whereas Tabasco?s sriracha is a homogeneous, rust-colored red pur?e that could easily be confused for barbecue sauce.
But taste is where it counts, and taste-wise, Huy Fong?s sriracha blows Tabasco?s out of the water. The Huy Fong sauce has a more balanced flavor?sweet with a slight acidic tang, with a spiciness that intensifies on the finish. Tabasco?s version is much heavier on the vinegar (not surprising for Tabasco), and its heat is all up front.
The nail in the coffin: Tabasco?s stuff is twice as expensive as Huy Fong?s, at $4.99 for a 15-ounce bottle.
That said, Tabasco?s sriracha would work in a pinch. Because any hot sauce is better than no hot sauce.

Soon as I find some I'll let you guys know...but it sounds a lot more like Tabasco than it does sricha. Still, that might not be so bad.

The thing about Sriracha is that there are many different kinds. Some are terrible (like the kind Subway uses) and others are divine.
One thing though- the first time you have Sriracha it's only okay. You need to do it over and over and get addicted and only then will you know what it's like to enjoy Sriracha.

OOOOOh gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on the Subway Creamy Sricha...that stuff has a nice flavor and a helthy kick for what you might expect from a national sammy chain. Rest of your opinion I agree with 100%.

This is ESSENTIAL. Better than the original and even the TJ's brand. Cheaper too. This is the BEST example of balancing flavor and heat. In addition to the chili, which they turn up delicately, they pump it full of sharp tomato taste. Seriously...this is 4 star **** here.

I'm not a big condiment guy
For hot sauce, my go to is anything made by Lingham's
http://www.amazon.com/Linghams-Hot-Sauce-12-6-358g/dp/B00MBVH63U/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1443442482&sr=1-1&keywords=linghams+hot+sauce
Tabasco and Cholula are my other regulars.
I like Durkee's Famous Sauce since my dad liked Durkee's, grew up with it.
http://www.amazon.com/Durkee-Famous-Sauce-Sandwich-Salad/dp/B00G8H2DWW/ref=sr_1_3?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1443442780&sr=1-3&keywords=durkees+sauce
French's Yellow mustard is still my favorite of all time with a japanese mayonnaise like Kewpie a close second then kikkoman soy sauce third.

Heard mixed results on all the ketchup companies attempts to add scricha, so I was waiting to try the king of sricha's version of ketchup. The results are off the charts. Primarily a ketchup, which is what you want, but with flavor tweaks off the charts. More chili style then the usual sricha taste but the tomato taste of the ketchup never gets overwhelmed. This will be a mainstay in my fridge going forward...outstanding.

Just a bit of advice...the bottle has one of those butthole type squeeze spouts that are supposed to be no mess...well, the control is an issue,it comes out quicker and in a bigger volume than you would expect. Aim for the center of what you are trying to hit because it has spray issues.

Yes the new-fangled anal sphincter design on squeeze bottles is awful.
Still...the number of decades it took to move past impossible-to-use glass bottles of ketchup to ANY KIND of squeezable container continues to boggle my mind. An-tic-ipation!

I hate it more than people who "like/love it" hate their taste buds.
Tofu is like running. Nobody loves it. They either hate it, or they hate themselves, they just don't realize it. They're punishing themselves for some deep rooted, subconscious reason that needs to be addressed. I feel like if we can get these people help, we can rid the world of evils such as tofu.

Catsup has its place on the table but I have been telling TooCool this for a while.
The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (this is a real thing that exists) goes as far as to deem dressing a dog with ketchup completely unacceptable over the age of 18

Exactly! I grew up with Ketchup on Hot Dogs. Just because I'm an "adult" doesn't mean I suddenly have to stop because it's an unwritten rule or something. Plus, I despise mustard and don't like relish. I ain't going to eat a hot dog plain. (Unless they run out of ketchup...)
But on a side note, why the hell is notbob calling it Catsup. He's not the only one either. Where did that term come from and why don't you just call it Ketchup?

http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-ket2.htm
Ketchup was one of the earliest names given to this condiment, so spelled in Charles Lockyer?s book of 1711, An Account of the Trade in India: ?Soy comes in Tubbs from Jappan, and the best Ketchup from Tonquin; yet good of both sorts are made and sold very cheap in China?. Nobody seems quite sure where it comes from, and I won?t bore you with a long disquisition concerning the scholarly debate on the matter, which is reflected in the varied origins given in major dictionaries. It?s likely to be from a Chinese dialect, imported into English through Malay. The original was a kind of fish sauce, though the modern Malay and Indonesian version, with the closely related name kecap, is a soy sauce.
On a related note, when I was in sixth grade, we read a "mystery" book in class (That I can't remember the name of) about a group of animals that thought they were prisoners, or were trying to escape... Anyhow, one of the characters was a cat, and saw a bottle filled with red liquid called "cat soup" (catsup) and thought that he was going to be cooked and eaten. Why I remember that and not actually important things, I have no idea. But that's where I first heard about catsup and back then, you could still buy catsup (which is ketchup) at the store.

I am a vegetarian, so I don't eat hotdogs. Well, I have had those faux paus veggie dogs, but I am not really big on them. When I do, I default to mustard. Maybe, it's a cultural thing, I mean hotdogs can be prepared in so many ways. When the writer Nora Ephron was on Charlie Rose she said that her final meal would be a hot dog with Gulden's Mustard. That sounds about right. I prefer veggie corn dogs mainly because the batter bread covering tastes the same as the regular ones, and yeah, I also add mustard to them. :P

An Op-Ed About Ranch Dressing Has The Condiment Debate Raging Hotter Than Ever
http://uproxx.com/life/ranch-dressing-snobbery/
This morning, when the Washington Post fired back with the Hit ?Em Up of food rants, titled, ?Ranch dressing is what?s wrong with America.? Which we can all probably agree is a little dramatic. It had some doozy lines too. Like this gem:
First, it?s disgusting. It tastes like exactly what it is, which is milk that?s halfway rotten. Why would anyone want to take something that they would throw out if they unexpectedly smelled it in their fridge and put that on their salad?
That paragraph reveals the author?s shaky handle on dairy-foods. Plenty of wonderful foods are based on bacteria cultures. Using this logic, the ?halfway rotten? argument might also apply to a whole smattering of cheeses, anything fermented, etc.
Things got hotter:
Second, diners are using it incorrectly. Putting ranch on salad at least has a rationale: Many people don?t appreciate vegetables and feel compelled to slather everything in processed fat. Fine. But why would anyone use it on french fries? Because deep-fried food isn?t greasy and caloric enough? And putting it on pizza ? a horrifying, common practice ? is insane because pizza is already dripping with mozzarella. It?s completely redundant, wildly unhealthy and disrespectful to any halfway decent pizza, the chef who made it and to the Italian people who gave it to us.
So, basically: ?**** Ranch Dressing as a staff, food product, and as a mother****ing crew. And if you want to be down with Ranch Dressing, **** you too!?
I don't know if I am as militant as this guy, but I am not the biggest fan of Ranch. Much rather use Marzetti's Dill Dip or something else if you are going for the creamy side of town

This is great on just about anything - adds a great crunchy, garlicky, smoky mildly spicy oomph to anything you put it on. My friend spreads it on his sandwiches. I just tried it with a piece of salami I had, and I fell in love. I'll be enjoying this at lunch with some beef satay I made last night, and cannot wait for lunch time.

Amazon reviews sound legit. Did you friend buy this in a local store? I cringe dropping $22 for an 8oz jar of something I've never tried.

It's available at Amazon or through the mfg, but not aware of any local stores that carry it. Yet. He gets his through Amazon (same price as through the mfg), and right now it looks like Amazon has both versions (but only 1 left of the regular). The regular version is spicier (this one is hit or miss being is stock at Amazon), but talking to my friend right now, he said there's a trade off. The spicier version has more chile skin and seed in it, which affects the texture (compared to the mild one). The mild one is super crunchy, whereas the spicier one has a little bit of softness/chew to it from the added chile flake. His wife had ordered the mild one by accident, as it turned out to be a bit of serendipity. He said he very much prefers the mild one for the texture.
Here's the mfg site if you want it: http://www.chilecrunch.com/products/
Edit: fix some facts. Amazon actually had both versions on hand at the time of this post.

Wife decided to make breakfast for dinner last night. Allowed me to crack open this bad boy. Worked very well on eggs/potatoes. If you like the OG Aardvark...I suggest.

Nice to see your Aardvark(although they associate with 'Hipster') and my fave, Trader Joe's Green Dragon. Gonna have to seek some of these out.

Maybe not a condiment...but this chicken marinade is legit (orange drink based). Usually found by the butcher.

Picked up some of this at Wal-Mart the other day on a whim. I do not regret the purchase in the least.

This is Black Label Valentina sauce which is supposed to be hotter than the regular Yellow Label one.

I don't think it's too acidic, but it might be too bitter and strong for your taste.
Dunno, I like stuff reaaal spicy, so I have built a tolerance for strong bitter sauces, haha. :P

Seriously...if you like hot, and most important, flavor. I'm on my 3rd bottle of the hot sauce.
Dumped the jam over a block of cream cheese for a party awhile back. Put out some crackers. Everyone was asking about it.

When I was younger I used to spend time in SJ and there is a pretty mediocre taqueria call La Vic. Food was nothing special but they made this hot sauce that is awesome. Finally got around to try making it and this recipe while not the same iss pretty damn good.

La Victoria's claim to fame is being next to San Jose State U and that orange sauce.
So remember, kids, condiments, and location, location, location. :w00t:

I love pickled onions. I haven’t tried any store bought brands, I just make my own. There are a bunch of recipes online but they’re all basically a cup each of water & vinegar with a tablespoon of salt, sugar, and pickling & other spices. But you just bring everything to a boil then add onions. If they’re diced you can just turn off the heat & let them cool down in the pot & they’ll soften right up. Sliced onions need to boil for a minute or so. Once they’re cooled put them in a jar in the refrigerator. They’re really good on hamburgers & hot dogs.
This reminds me of something but not for this thread.

LOVE that. After trying MULTIPLE srichas, including the original Huy Fuong(which is good for heat, but doesn't do much for taste), I have found First Street to be the perfect balance between taste and heat.
and this is a couple weeks new...
