Exclusive: First ’68 Kill’ Trailer Teases a Demented Dark Comedy Crime Spree
http://collider.com/68-kill-trailer/

“Trailer-dwelling, sewage-pumping Chip (Matthew Gray Gubler) may not lead the most glamorous life, but he’s got one thing going for him: he’s head over heels infatuated with his girlfriend Liza (AnnaLynne McCord). He’s more than willing to overlook her wild streak—the fact that she’s hooking up with their landlord; her rather extreme mood swings —so when she proposes a plot to steal $68,000, he goes along with the plan. But when what was supposed to be a simple heist turns into an off-the-rails, blood-spattered crime spree, Chip learns the hard way just how deranged the love of his life really is. The new film from Troma alum Trent Haaga blends wicked comedy with pure pulp thrills for a no-holds-barred blast of insanity.

Sorry, trailer not embeddable.

Saw this at one of the AMC previews tonight.

Bad f***ing ass.

I was expecting more straight up action movie, but there was more intrigue than I figured. My friend who saw it with me agreed that it was like a cross between some of the 80's Bond movies, the Bourne movies, and John Wick.

And it was relatively short, but didn't necessarily feel like it. It started at 7, no previews, and we watched the entire credits, stopped and took some pictures with the neon display, made a pit stop on the way out, and I was in the parking lot when I noticed it was 9:05.

Anyway, if you were on the fence about this, I would tell you to get off the fence and go when it gets released next weekend.

‘Suburbicon’ Trailer: Matt Damon Gets Angry in George Clooney’s Crime Comedy
http://collider.com/suburbicon-trailer-matt-damon/#images

Paramount has just released the first trailer for Suburbicon, directed by George Clooney and written by the Coen Brothers, featuring an all-star cast including Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Noah Jupe, and Oscar Isaac. The movie takes place in the late 1950s, as Damon’s character begins to unraveling the secrets that lurk beneath his town’s seemingly peaceful and perfect exterior.

‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’ Trailer Makes Ellie Goulding’s “Burn” Super Creepy
http://collider.com/the-killing-of-a-sacred-deer-trailer/#poster

A24 has released The Killing of a Sacred Deer trailer. Yorgos Lanthimos’ film stars Colin Farrell as a top cardiologist who has a twisted relationship with a young man (Barry Keoghan) that threatens his family and career. Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg in a movie that Gregory Ellwood compared to Michael Haneke’s Funny Games in his glowing review from Cannes. Here’s an excerpt:

In many ways, this is Lanthimos’ own variation of Michael Haneke’s Funny Games, a shocking morality play where there is no control, no easy choices and no happy ending. The difference is that where Haneke played with the inevitability of death Lanthimos is more focused having the horror of what you’ve just seen linger with both the audience and the characters onscreen. He doesn’t just want you to be repulsed, but emotionally devastated. A gorgeously rendered gut punch that ends up being no laughing matter.

‘Brawl in Cell Block 99’ Review: Vince Vaughn Is Locked Up and Unleashed | TIFF 2017
http://collider.com/brawl-in-cell-block-99-review/#vince-vaughn

That being said, we’re usually meant to cheer for the violence as Zahler gets a visceral reaction from brutality so vivid that the film would need to be rated NC-17 if the MPAA ever issued a verdict. The film relishes every bloody moment to the point that it makes the violence in Zahler’s previous film, Bone Tomahawk, look tame by comparison.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 may not be the movie you expect, but it’s still a surprisingly rich and powerful film despite its grindhouse soul. Rather than go for the audience’s bloodlust from the start, the movie wants us to invest in Bradley and care about his decisions as much as we care about how badly he can beat people to a pulp. Thanks to Vaughn’s performance and Zahler’s direction, Brawl in Cell Block 99 is able to walk the line between a down-and-dirty picture and one that genuinely cares about its tragic protagonist.

Wind River Bluray Review
https://bluray.highdefdigest.com/51840/windriver.html

Really solid flick with an impressive performance from Jeremy Renner. Usually he kinda coasts on his likeability, but he shows some real range in this one. Some stunning visuals too. If that isn't enough...

Wind River was distributed theatrically by The Weinstein Company. When writer/director Taylor Sheridan, and his producing partners, learned of Harvey Weinstein's awful, criminal behavior towards women, Sheridan and his partners pulled control of the movie back from The Weinstein Company. As such, any future earnings from the Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD that would have been earmarked for The Weinstein Company will, instead, be donated to the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center.

You can watch (or read) Mr. Sheridan and his team speak on the matter HERE.

You can support the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center by purchasing this film via the Amazon links on this page OR by donating directly HERE.

I watched the Secret Window with Johnny Depp (based on a Stephen King?s book). It is a thriller about a writer who is trying to write his novel in a strange house. Really liked this dark film, all King?s traditional mix of madness and horror are well shown. Depp is a great actor and all movies he appears in become memorable.
Read about this movie and Depp as well and found out that he likes remote and mystic houses in life as well, for example he owned (and designed) this (https://tranio.com/france/adt/1635106/) villa in France (now it is for sale and belongs to someone else).

Now we have a few more details on the plot and characters courtesy of EW:

Among the gathered rogues: a down-on-his-luck priest (Jeff Bridges), a singer named Darlene Sweet (Cynthia Erivo), an impressionable Southern girl (Cailee Spaeny) and her older sister (Dakota Johnson), a vacuum cleaner salesman (Jon Hamm), and — perhaps most enigmatically — a charismatic and shirt-averse cult leader, played by Chris Hemsworth.
The seventh is the young concierge of Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, who is played by Lewis Pullman.

Drew Goddard's first since Cabin in the Woods.
