Rams returning to L.A.
Charges have the option to join them.

So much better having our team with a 48 year history return to Southern California.
Yes, the Chargers were born in L.A., but they are San Diego's team.
Oakland can keep the Raiders too. Except for Marcus Allen, I never felt any connection to that team.
Go Blue & Gold!!!

They'll be playing the Mausoleum again too....wow...it's like we never left the 70s.
The bad news here is that if the Chargers somehow work out something down south the Raiders get the next option to come to LA. That SUCKS....I was rooting for the Chargers to stay where they belong but with the Raiders looming I'm not so sure anymore.

Chargers, yes, born in LA but only played one season I believe (1960). The Rams going back makes more sense than Oakland or San Diego. At least with the Rams going back it makes all my LA RAMS stuff relevant again. I did follow them when they left LA and still like them but LA Rams sounds so much better than St. Louis Rams.

Nah, Cleveland already has a crappy football team. Who, in 20 years, will still be crappy.

The whole team the Chargers have been saying they can't afford to lose the LA market (i.e. "25% of our season ticket base is from Orange County/LA". sure)
Now they all of a sudden want to go back and negotiate with san diego (maybe) to stay there? They don't think having the Rams, and potentially the Raiders, in LA would kill that 25% or more? I live in the SFV and aside from me, haven't really seen charger fans anywhere up here. Much more when I lived in south orange county I gues (although those were the Marty years)
I suppose they don't care so much about the fan level, as with TV money and revenue sharing they'll be fine and have a nice bump in net value. But man people in san diego this morning are talking like this is the hail mary that connected and all will be well now.
If they're going to move to LA, you better do it quick and don't give the Rams a big headstart in selling tickets/advertising, etc. You also gotta give time for planning preseason training, league schedules, amongst other issues. And don't be a lame duck in san diego for a year.

A great injustice reversed!
I hated Georgia even before she moved the team. She deliberately drove the team in the ground and anyone who was paying attention knew she was up to something a couple of years before the move. She was truly a vile human being. BTW the movie "Major League" was written and produced by a couple of Rams fans and they said it was based off Georgia and the Rams but they made it a baseball movie so they would not get sued.
When the Rams moved I was going to burn all my Rams gear but then I heard a report that there was a opt-out of STL after 20 years if certain conditions were not met. Optimist me then said "There is a chance!"
So last night I got my "Rams Stuff" box out of the garage (it had made a couple of moves with me) and broke it open. My gear had not seen the light of day for something like 21 years.
So this morning I had a cup of tea in one of my LA Rams coffee cups and I am wearing my Jackie Slater signed LA Rams hat.
I am pretty happy. Slightly happier than the day I heard that the evil hag Georgia croaked.

Yep. I have never used the C-word on anyone but her. I have also never celebrated someone dying before. But I danced when that C died.
When the Rams come back they better not bring that ugly showgirl gold uniform and give us back the LA blue and gold. (or blue and white)
The Kings are the only LA born and raised team in town.

Now I am in sort of a bad mood. A victim of nostalgia and booze! I'm not hammered, had a nice drink to celebrate the Rams return.
But then It came to me, that heartless feckless whore deprived me of two decades of my favorite NFL team. She robbed me of over 20 YEARS!!!!
(Don't think she was horrible? After her husband and Ram owner Carroll Rosenbloom died under somewhat mysterious circumstances, a PBS documentary suggested murder, and she surprisingly inherited control of the team she promptly fired her stepkids from the Rams organization. What a bitch!)

For me the Rams died the day Carroll Rosenbloom drowned. I also think him making the decision to move to Anaheim also didn't help. For whatever reason I've never liked the teams here (I was raised in OC and lived here all my life). I never liked the Angels or later the Ducks (obviously) so when the Rams moved it really didn't sit well with me.
Now all the Rams need are a few tragic losses to the Vikings and Cowboys in the NFC Championship game and all will be back to normal!!

You mean Chrissy Everett?
I always thought he got a raw deal on this.
He started out doing pretty good. He was a non-mobile pocket QB. He came in with Eric Dickerson as RB and one of the best offensive lines in the league.
Then the dismantling of the team takes place. Dickerson is soon dealt for far less than he was worth, one by one the OL is sent away. TE Pete Holohan, a clutch guy with great hands is allowed to walk, Rams don't even try to keep him.
Now Everett has a crappy running game, an even crappier O-line and mediocre receivers.
Now this pocket QB gets "Lookout!" blocks and has to run for life every other play, but as mentioned, he is not very mobile. So he gets killed all game long. Sacks, knock downs and hard tackles when he runs for a yard. It adds up and he starts to get gun shy, he starts to go down easy when he feels contact, once even falling when there was no contact.
He takes a lot of heat for this and is embarrassed by it.
A young and brash Rome with a fairly new show is trying to make a name for himself and seperate his show from the "establishment" radio shows. So Rome mocks and ridicules Everett mercilessly. Now to be honest Everett did deserves some criticism because, hey, its football and getting hit is part of the game, but Romes takes it too far: he never mentions how the Rams are being driven into the ground, how Georgia is up to something evil and how Everett is one of the most sacked QBs in the NFL. He just makes fun of Everett, on a personal level, non-stop.
So Everett agrees to an interview on Rome's new TV show. Before it happens Evertt's people convey that he really does not like being called "Chrissy", and he wants to tell his side of the story. Rome's people say "no problem", he won't call him "Chrissy".
So we know what happened. At the start of the interview Rome calls him "Chris". Everett asks him not to and they have an exchange in which Everett is calm and respectfull and Rome is a snarky D-bag. It ends when Everett states something to the effect of "I bet you don't call that to my face one more time" and Rome responds with "I bet I Do!" and then the table is thrown and Everett takes Rome down like a ragdoll.
Rome in the following days talks about how unprofessional Everett was and gets all butthurt when he is criticized by other media folks and numerous NFL players come out and say that he deserved more of beating at the hands of Everett.
Rome had it coming. And I have heard in recent years when this is mentioned, and it very rarely is brought up, Rome actually admits, in so many words, he was out of line and sort of had it coming.

It essentially put Rome on the map. Before that he was just a part time guy on XTRA that got a lucky break with a TV gig at ESPN2 when it went on the air.
In all fairness to Rome's criticism, Everett did go down rather easy in that playoff game....

I fully expect that the Chargers will stay in San Diego. They're using this threat as leverage to see if they can get anything out of the city. Honestly it would make zero sense for them to move there. Let's look at the math here. They want like a billion dollars for a new stadium. The NFL offered them 100 million to stay. If they moved it would cost them 550 million AND they'd be a tenant of the Rams stadium so they'd be paying that every year. To a competitor in the market. You're already at almost 700 million now. Just suck it up and dump the rest into a new stadium and get it done.

Back in '98, Hacksaw hosted the Kings' pregame show before a playoff game against the Blues. I called in on my archaic cell phone while driving to work, and just as my turn came up, my cell phone bonked. I turned up my radio just in time to hear him say "Get a better cell phone!" with complete and utter disgust. It was beautiful.
And no, I didn't say my name was Jack. (if you remember that Hacksaw classic, you're truly go back some.)

BTW, so sick of hearing the Saints fans, and others, whine and cry about that missed PI call! Yes it was PI but the Saints also got away with some pretty bad penalties that were not called. One being a Saint who stomped on a downed Ram player with the clear intent to injure him and knock him out of the game. They also got away with two blatant face masks, one being on Goff and the guy who did it was the guy who stomped the other Ram and he tried to stomp Goff as well and a PI. If those had been called more than likely the Rams would have had a score or two. But those whining crybabies only concentrate on that Rams PI call, evidently it is ok for the Saints to get away with penalties.

I saw that 4 side by side pic moments after came out, I forget who put it out but it was a sports guy and he pointed out how much the Saints got away with. Most Saints fans said that since those happened early those where no big deals. When pointed out that the face masks came on third downs and well as a PI and that the Rams had to kick a field goal on one and that there was good chance if called it was possible that the Rams would score a TD or two, most Saints fans freaked out and got nasty. Although a few were decent and admitted there were missed calls for both teams.
