This is really good news for the sport of hockey. I've always felt that the sour relationship between the NHL and ESPN is bad for the NHL. Glad to see the league get out of its own way. With Disney+ taking off, perhaps there's going to be an opportunity to stream leaguewide through ESPN. Exposure to the sport is a good thing, and sports fans watch ESPN...it's that simple. Perhaps Bettman finally got in-game violence (that we know and love) down to an acceptable level for Disney. Assuming this has been in the works for years, that would explain the effort on Bettman's part, anyway. Ultimately, I think this is a good thing for the league, so I'll take it.

And now, the news you've all been waiting for: Yes, they're going to bring the theme music back!

Now what are the odds they'll bring back Thorne and Clement?

Yeah, Thorne and Clement (hands of cement!) an upgrade over some of the clowns NBC hired.

Clement is 70 and has retired from broadcasting. Thorne is 72 and is interested in coming back to call games after the O's dumped him after 14 years.

Just as long as Disney doesn't bring back that stupid Tinker Bell character flying around the screen to tap players on the head!! That's been dead for a number of years. Hope to keep it that way.

That's been dead for a number of years. Close to 30, to be specific. Feeling old yet?

More details about the deal. For us non chord cutters, we'll have to get a streaming service.

Maybe I'm being an 'old head' here, but I feel that hockey coverage/highlights peaked on NHL2Nite with Buccigross and Barry in the 90s.
I know they will have a helluva time recapturing that fun and hype, but I sure hope they try.
