Frustrating. Rinse, wash, repeat.......same as last season. Get to the final third, pass the ball around a lot, nobody makes runs, no number 10 that can create, the every odd and again poor cross to nobody. UGH!!!

We need a legit number 10. Why this club keeps stocking wingers is beyond me.

Bond laid an egg. That dumb play was inexcusable. If you are going out to get a ball in no mans land on a set piece you MUST be certain to get the ball. Bush league goaltending. Come on Bond, you are CLEARLY better than that.
Costa dribbles to nowhere. Cabral was Cabral. Chicha did a disappearing act (plenty of 2 man coverage on him). Efra...use your weak foot!!!!! That was a goal.

    Dejan MUST start!!!!
    Grandsir MUST start!!!
Costa and Cabral to the bench.

Sure he's old (and getting slower and more injured) but this team needs Vazquez for creativity. He's the only thing we got.
How this club with so much history, and $$$ could only get Victor Vazquez in the 10 role is beyond me......but hey, we keep signing wingers like mad!.....old busted has been wingers, unproven ones that take up a DP spot.
Front office is trash. Who's making these selections?!?!?

Boring match until the second half substitutions, then too little too late. VAR giveth, and taketh away.

Dejan is fire for two matches in a row.....it shows. Play the kid, or I hope for his sake he says he wants out in the summer. No need to waste this kids talent.

Sell Efra, cut bait on Cabral. Too bad Costa's 6 month loan turned into the G's signing him for all of 2023.

Tired of seeing the G's play mediocre teams, and the G's themselves playing less than mediocre.

    Rant over.

P.S. STOP the short corners......our set pieces are ridiculously poor in offense and in defending.

Sources: LA Galaxy in advanced talks to acquire defender Chase Gasper from Minnesota United. Close, but not done yet. Deadline closes tonight. Believe 8pm ET.

Gasper, 26, has made 63 apps with MNUFC. Club & player worked together for positive next step. Gasper went to UCLA.

I'm guessing Villafana isn't progressing and is not coming back any time soon.

Still need a CAM. We got that max TAM $$$ let's use it!!!

    Official:

LA Galaxy Acquire Defender Chase Gasper From Minnesota United FC
    By LA Galaxy Communications

    Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 07:21 PM

LOS ANGELES (Wednesday, May 4, 2022) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has acquired defender Chase Gasper from Minnesota United FC in exchange for $450,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM). Gaspar is under contract with the Galaxy through the end of the 2025 MLS Regular Season. LA will also send a conditional $300,000 in GAM if certain performance metrics are achieved. The Galaxy will retain $220,000 of Gasper’s 2022 budget charge, while Minnesota will pay the remainder of his 2022 budget charge.

Gasper, 26, joins LA after tallying two goals and two assists in 77 games played (73 starts) across all competitions with Minnesota United FC (2019-22). Last season, Gasper tallied one goal in 30 MLS regular-season appearances (30 starts) for Minnesota. In one appearance for Minnesota in 2022, Gasper played five minutes off the bench in the Loons’ 2-0 win over Forward Madison FC in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

“We’re excited to welcome Chase to the LA Galaxy,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney. “Chase is an experienced and highly regarded left back in our league. He adds character, quality and a competitive spirit to our group.”

The Alexandria, Va., native tallied one goal and one assist in 18 regular-season appearances (16 starts) in his second season with Minnesota in 2020. In his first season as a professional in 2019, Gasper played in 15 matches (14 starts) in league play for Minnesota United. Notably, Gasper played in every match during Minnesota’s run during the 2019 U.S. Open Cup, including starting and playing 90 minutes in the final against Atlanta United FC on Aug. 28, 2019.

Gasper was selected 15th overall by MNUFC in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Maryland (2017-18), where he tallied five assists in 29 games played (28 starts) and helped the Terrapins claim the 2018 NCAA Men’s National Championship. Prior to transferring to the University of Maryland, Gasper spent three seasons at UCLA (2014-16), where he logged two goals and seven assists in 43 appearances (36 starts) for the Bruins.

At the international level, Gasper has made one appearance for the United States Men’s National Team as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica in an international friendly on Feb. 1, 2020.

Word is he recently voluntarily entered the league's substance abuse program.....however the inside word is that it was more for mental health issues rather than substance issues.
Here's hoping a new change of scenery back in LA will be good for him and the G's.

UGLY 1-0 decision on the road.....against a team ahead of us in the standings.......that has not lost at home in some time........I'll take it!

Could it really be true the G's have the best defense in the league?!?!?!?

    MOTM: Delgado.

    Grandsir is snakebit.
Chicha missed an easy one....that does not happen much.

Curious to see how it works itself out after a few matches with Edwards at mid and Gasper at LB.
Gasper looked OK....a few errors, but it's expected being as he just arrived with the club.
Sega continues to look like a beast.

Still miss that creative CAM.....when will Vazquez return......who knows?

So the G's win another round of Open Cup.........yea.....ummmm......that was ummmm......yea....

Sure we had a rotated roster, but against a 3rd tier team, we look the same.
A lot of time with the ball, and then VERY slow in the attacking third.
ZERO creatively. No vertical passing. Pass....pass...side to side.....to the outside back.....meaningless cross into the box to nobody.
    Rinse...wash....repeat.

Grandsir has nothing. Dribbles into defenders time and again....either turns the ball over, or takes a horrific shot.
Cabral, makes his way into dangerous positions, only to pass instead of shoot.

Dejan is legit saving the G's.
Greg has got to figure out a way to put him in as a starter. Change the formation if that's what it takes.

Every team in the league knows to shut down the G's you just need 2 guys on Chicha. He's the only threat.
Mix in Dejan, and now who do you cover?

I don't want to say it's that simple, but it sorta is.

    ...and yes.....we need a 10 in a HUGE way.

Oh and I think Efra has hit his ceiling.

I picked a real bad day to attend a match....sucks to be me.

So I'll look to the silver linings:

Vazquez was on the bench, so he should be back for the next match. REPLACE EFRA!!!! That kid should NOT start. He is invisible.
Edwards had a small knock, so Vanney gave him rest....so he should be back for the next match. GASPER SHOULD NOT HAVE STARTED AGAINST A TEAM LIKE FC DALLAS!!! They smoked him over and over again. Dude needs time to get adjusted to the G's and gain some serious fitness. What a howler of a game from him.

Wake up call....this was a wake up call for G's at home. With all the matches coming fast and furious in the next few weeks, we will now know if the G's are real or pretenders.
Will the real G's please stand up...please stand up!

Sidebar: Seeing Twizzle was the only bonus to attending the match. I think the G's should think about having Twizzle and Cozmo due tandem matches from time to time. It was cool to see them play off each other.

My response to that after seeing who gets what on the list: This front office is VERY bad with salary structure vs roster quality.
    It's horrific. It's comical.

The salary some of these guys are making....vs total game minutes played......vs assists or goals......oof!
