Lots of rumors out there that the G's big DP signing is going to be VERY familiar.

Nope, it's not some big name winger that will get you excited.

It's none other than Puig. Yup, Puig will take the open DP spot.

Wingers will be TAM.



If you are thinking LONG term G's....and knowing that this summer window is closed thanks to cheating....then signing Puig to a long term DP spot is good....long term.
This season will be more of the same G's...a bubble team, perhaps even a top 4 or 5 finisher in the conference. Not a contender for MLS Cup.
G's play out Chicha & Costa's contracts as DP's this year in the "meh / wasted" season.

Then next season you will have two open DP spots with Puig as the center piece...long term.

It makes "sense" long term, considering how the FO royally screwed the G's with the cheating scandal, and signing a broken guy like Costa.

Write off this season, and wait for next season.

Meanwhile the noisy neighbors keep getting more noisy.

[Baxter] Former USMNT winger Tyler Boyd is reportedly in LA to undergo a physical ahead of a possible signing with the LA Galaxy. The team declined comment.

It's almost as if it appears the Galaxy had no Plan B or C.......and no scouting list of who to go after.

I mean, you knew during last season, and for sure this season after you jettisoned Cabral, that you needed HUGE help on wing.
Not to mention, you knew that Costa is a bust for all of last season....hence even more help needed at wing.
Then the shoe drops with Grandsir.......now you have a ENOURMOUS hole(s) at the wing position....and no signings yet....


....but.....the guy we are going after at wing played just 45 minutes in the Turkish league in the last 9 months......THIS is the guy everyone! THIS guy!

LOS ANGELES (Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has re-signed El Salvador international defender Eriq Zavaleta to a two-year contract through the end of the 2024 MLS season.

Zavaleta, 30, made six appearances (5 starts) across all competitions in his first season with the Galaxy in 2022. The Westfield, Ind., native has logged two goals and one assist in 144 career regular-season appearances (112 starts) across 10 seasons played in MLS for four teams: Seattle Sounders FC (2013), Chivas USA (2014), Toronto FC (2015-21) and the Galaxy (2022-Present). Notably, Zavaleta was part of the treble-winning Toronto FC side that claimed MLS Cup, the Supporters’ Shield and the Canadian Championship in 2017 under LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney.

How do they not see this as a "bad look"?!?!? They have not signed anyone of significance yet, but hey, let's go ahead and announce that the coach's relative got another contract.

Not good enough for the 1st team, certainly too good for MLS Next, so sell him to USL Championship side. Makes sense.

Tyler Boyd is at "Goalchella"......so you know it's only a matter of time till ink hits paper on this signing......hurray?!

Apparently Barca says Julian is their property, and that they are appealing the case to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport).....they say they want him no matter the outcome, so it looks like Julian will be with Barca in the summer....perhaps a loan back to the G's for the spring.
