Default So, Who Ya' Got in the Playoffs?

    The Mighty Ducks, of course!

    Just kidding.

Anyway yeah I'll probably watch a few games here and there. I'm not going to be glued to the TV watching all the playoff games, but I do have a couple of favorites with the Kings gone.

Number One would be the Pittsburgh Penguins, and not just because my family moved to Western Pennsylvania after relocating to America from Italy. I've spent a lot of time there and always enjoyed myself and became a bit of a Pittsburgh fan. And I want Carts to win again.

Next up would be the Washington Caps since I like Ovi and Oshie and I lived in Maryland for two years and went to the Cap Center to see the Kings play. I thought the fans there treated me pretty well and I had a good very time in DC and really grew fond of the place.

I also have family in Vegas (Henderson) and have quite a few memorable experiences in Vegas, where I spend a considerable amount of time...but I just can't bring myself to root for the Golden Knights...I have a mental block when it comes to rooting for that team. I'm not happy how the draft worked out with them ending up with an All-Star team that went right to the top immediately. Not fair; their fans had to suffer zero agony for zero amount of time...and those cheesy, nausea-inducing pregame ceremonies are a major a turn-off...even though they are a pretty good team...and they have AMart.

    So...who ya' rooting for?

From each division who I'd like to see win:
    NYI
    Winnipeg
    Colorado
    Carolina

    Overall: NYI

Who I think will win....unfortunately Vegas. Hope I'm wrong. I'm pulling for Colorado tonight because I'd like to see Vegas play Minnesota instead of STL.

    NORTH: Toronto
    EAST: Islanders
    CENTRAL: Carolina
    WEST: Colorado

I want Carolina to win. Basically, anyone but Toronto, Montreal, Pit, or Vegas.

Islanders, if they can play their grind it out game and keep the scores low to beat the Pens.

As long as it's not Montreal, I'm pretty much okay. Here's another question: Which Canadian team would you eventually want to see break the McSorley curse? Certainly not Montreal. Toronto would be fine, since it's been 54 years since they've won. Other teams, fine with that. Maybe Winnipeg would be my second choice. Yes, the current Jets go back only 10 years, but the NHL goes back there to 1979. That's a pretty long wait without even a sniff at a Cup.

The Panthers. They have been one of the surprises of the season and I want to see if they are the real deal in the playoffs.

    Plus I like cats, haha.

I think your Avs may win it all.

In my always humble opinion, Vegas and Colorado are the two best teams in the NHL...but don't underestimate St. Louis. This year's West is a powerhouse division. I think any of those three teams will hoist the Cup...and I wouldn't be surprised if their Eastern opponent is Pittsburgh...but if I were putting money on any team, it'd be the Avs. They're a finely-tuned well-oiled machine.

The Avs certainly turned on the heat at the right time.
I think Vegas will make short work of Minny - AND that the Vegas/Avs series will be "the cup series" much like LA/CHI was back in '13 & '14. I'll predict AV's in 7.

I'd like to see TML or EDM (McDavid) come out on top of the Canada Cup. Little chance the Canadian division winner gets through to the finals though.

Ultimately I think it'll boil down to Avs vs Canes with the Avs hoisting.

    But then the curse...
