Default Kane Suspended 21 Games for Submitting Fake COVID-19 Vax Card

Not sure if he's guilty of domestic abuse or gambling on hockey, but this proves one thing: Evander Kane ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Did he seriously think he'd get away with it? Wow.

Sounds like the Sharks have just about had it with Kane. From today's San Jose Mercury News:

"If Kane does return to the team, a question also looms whether he would be welcomed back inside the locker room. Friction built up between Kane and his teammates throughout last season, to the point where some Sharks players expressed to management that they no longer wanted the forward on the team. Their frustration stemmed from Kane’s perceived overall lax attitude toward team rules, including being late for practices and games and the players’ dress code."

    The statement from the Sharks:

    Kane's statement:

“I would like to apologize to my teammates, the San Jose Sharks organization, and all Sharks fans for violating the NHL COVID protocols. I made a mistake, one I sincerely regret and take responsibility for. During my suspension, I will continue to participate in counseling to help me make better decisions in the future. When my suspension is over, I plan to return to the ice with great effort, determination, and love for the game of hockey.”

I always crack up at his well-crafted statements, where he always seems so level headed. Of course, he didn't write them. Here though I imagine he does regret his decision, which ended up costing him almost $1.8 million.
