Super Star
What a super fun game that first Cup was. The Rangers game was great too at the end, but the last 5+ minutes of the Devils game was just an absolute party atmosphere. We had the game locked up and were just waiting for the slowest 5 minutes of our lives to count down so that Brown could lift the Cup.

In 2 days, we'll have the 11th anniversary of Cup #2 (yay!) and also our last playoff series win (boo!). It is hard for me to believe it has been so long.

Unfortunate that I wasn't able to watch Game 6 of that year's Cup Finals because my local cable TV provider at the time didn't carry the game on any specific national broadcasting channel. Damn you, Time Warner Cable (I believe it was a different cable provider at the time but now my memory is a little fuzzy).

That’s surprising, considering it was on NBC. As for the game, I only relaxed when Lewis scored the ENG. One of the happiest days of my life.

The final was NBCSN which was formally Versus.

Trying to make a sentence here, barely able to. Being in the building for this, and getting to ride that wave for the final six minutes, not anxiously awaiting, but rather, swimming in a state of exaltation at the certainty of victory. It was the pinnacle.

Yes it was. After selling both kidneys and taking out a second mortgage on the house to afford my 200 level seats, I didn't breathe at all until it was 5-1 with 3 minutes left....... :woot:

Man you had a nicer camera than our POS. That was perhaps the funnest summer of my life - I posted a lot of stories at the time but was stationed in Mountain Home, ID in the USAF at the time and drove to games 4 and 6 (regrettably I only had money enough on the credit I opened at 19 to go to these games and buy 3 tickets [I think it was $1600? - I bought them the second after we clinched finals] - I asked my wife which game and she chose game 4 and I went to game 6 with my mom's boyfriend). We drove back down for the rally, parade, and met Jonathon Quick. Such a beautiful fun summer as a Kings fan. I collected everything I could but regrettably somehow never got a jersey patch lol.
