2024-25 Greenville Swamp Rabbits (Kings ECHL affiliate)

JWR

TEAM LGK
After retiring at the end of last year I relocated to South Carolina from LA. Since we still enjoy watching live Hockey we decided to become Season Ticket members for the local ECHL team the Greenville Swamp Rabbits which happens to be the Kings affiliate.
The team opened last evening with a 5 - 4 Overtime Loss to the Orlando Solar Bears.
Being a step below Ontario the play at this level is a bit rough but it is very enjoyable so long as remember these kids are young and can't expect the polish of the NHL level.
There are 7 players on the team who are under AHL contracts with the Reign.
Forwards Quinn Olsen , Colton Young , Carter Savoir & Bryce Brodzinski
Defense Dru Krebs & Parker Verge
Goaltender Dryden McKay

A couple of players stood out last night
Tyson Fawcett is a 5'7" forward who was quite the pest with a lot of good body checks, drew a couple of penalties and did score a nice top shelf goal. He reminded me of Blake Lizotte.
The other was defenceman Bobby Russell who QB'd the power play and was quite fast on the ice.
One side bit of info was that Jacob Modry (Jaroslav's son) was a healthy scratch.

If anyone would be interested I would be happy to give some updates on this team as the season continues. Still following the Kings when I can.

Hey another relocated South Carolonianinan! We grow in numbers (I got here early in '22 from Oregon).

That's cool. We're about 2 hours from Greenville, saw Gov't Mule up there (band). We try to make the 4 hour drive to the Carolina/Kings game each year. I've never heard of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits! I'll check em out. Thanks for the update.

Always loved their logo and name.

You can catch their games on FloSports which is 1000x times better than AHLTV which actually merged with Flosports. All because Flosports covers many other hockey leagues as well as other sports that go well under the radar of the main networks.

What's the size of their barn? I moved to Bama. The Southern Professional Hockey League has a team in Birmingham, the Birmingham Bulls (seats about 3,000 - fun barn to watch a game), and the Huntsville Havoc (seats 6,000 and honestly looks way bigger than where the Coyotes were playing, lol). I get to see the live hockey every once in awhile. My closest NHL team is Nashville, about 4.5 hours North of me. Atlanta would be way closer at 2.5 hours... wish they had a team so I could see the Kings more often.

Been there many times on tour. Nice mid-size arena.

Ok we are now 11 games into the season and after their win last evening over the SC Stingrays 3-2 the Swamp Rabbits are 6-4-1 = 13 points
I did get to watch Jacob Ingham shutout the Atlanta Gladiators 3-0 before he was called back up to Ontario.

Would be great for the Steelheads to go against the Swamp Rabbits in the playoffs..seeing Kings' games up here is a bit of a challenge..
