2024-25 Greenville Swamp Rabbits (Kings ECHL affiliate)

Do the Steelheads still play in that cool little arena attached to a hotel?

I didn't remember as it was ~2012, but my wife remembered and looked it up and yes, it's attached to the Grove Plaza. I remember it was a small, fun arena. I also liked the Knitting Factory concert venue nearby - saw many bands there. Boise was a nice retreat from Mountain Home where I was stationed.

In 2010 we did production rehearsals for a tour at the Boise State basketball arena and we stayed at that hotel. I got to go to a couple of Steelhead playoff games while we were there.

Well the season has ended for the Swamp Rabbits and while it started out ok several long losing streaks during the middle of the season ended any hope of them participating in this years playoffs.
They finished in 13th of 14 teams in the East division with a 27-37-8 for 62 points.
The season was one of transition starting as a smaller faster skilled team that would start fast but then wilt in the later periods against the larger more physical teams.
So as the season wore on there was a lot of turnover as they looked to put together a better team going forward.
Even though the record was not what we hoped my wife and I enjoyed the games and have renewed our season tickets for next season.
At the season end fan appreciation game they opened up early for the season ticket holders for a pregame lunch and a signing session with the players. I was able to pickup a couple of the black warm-up jerseys as well as 2 signed game used sticks.

I'd love to get my hands on some Swamp Rabbit merch. But paying USD and having it shipped up north just isn't palatable. Having trouble finding online stores that have merch north of the border.

I saw a guy wearing a Swamp Rabbit hoodie at my gym. Turns out he refereed down there. He was surprised I knew their affiliation.🐇

Later in the year as they get ready to start the new season contract me and I'll see what is available and the pricing and I can hook you up. Being a season ticket holder I can get a10% discount on gear.

I live 2 hours away from Greenville and could keep an eye out, but if you're in Canada holy sh*t shipping has become expensive.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. :)

Ok it's a new season for the Swamp Rabbits with hopefully more positive results.
Last year was pretty confusing due to the late decision by their coach Andrew Lord leaving to coach a Canadian Junior team ( he left that team after 1 year to take over the Reign). They promoted his assistant who had only coached for 1 year.
The inexperience tied into starting season with an undersized team translated into an underperforming team that finished 2nd to last in the division.
They hired an experienced coach in Chad Costello and proceeded to rebuild the roster.

In the ECHL most players play on 1 year contracts so there is a lot of turnover year to year. 3 players graduated to the Reign. Kaleb Lawrence, John Parker phones and Parker Berge. There are currently 11 players that finished last season that resigned for this year with 10 players over 6' (last year started with only 2).
So far after playing 3 consecutive days they are 1-2-0 and have 2 games Friday and Saturday.
Even though our 1st year was not that successful it was fun to attend the games and we have relied our season tickets for this year.
We are still Kings fans and use a VPN to be able to watch the games on Fan Duel just hate the 10pm starts but are having a lot of fun watching live hockey her e in South Carolina.

Tonight was the Swamp Rabbits 2nd game of the season , this time against their instate rival the South Carolina Stingrays.
The Rabbits won 3-2
Pictured is the new practice jerseys they are wearing as being an affiliate of the Kings
I have one! Had to get a size 58 because that’s all they had left. I usually wear a 56 so it doesn’t look that bad. The logo is huge

Living in Bama, I get almost all the Kings games via ESPN (usually the FanDuel feed), or nationally televised games on YouTube TV. Only need that ESPN subscription. And since I'm Central time, it's only 9pm or 9:30pm start times when the Kings are at home. heh

I'm east coast but those 10:30 starts are a killer lol. My dedication for that time shall only exist in the playoffs I think.
