Rantanen got me thinking...

I guess we don't have the space unless we dump other high sal players.

We need to re-sign Jeannot because we need his toughness and he has the potential to chip in or slot up on O.

Hopefully his sal goes down a notch.

I let Lewis ride hi horse on back to Utah silver stick in hand...

I let Gav walk for what he will command vs. what he offers on offense , even though we love the guy.

Thus the D core would be.

MA - DD
JE - BC
JMo- J$penyz

What do you mad max movie like villains think?

I think it's time to either trade DD or Gav as I don't think we will be able to re-sign Gav without trading DD.

Best to learn from CO and trade Gav before the deadline to get something back for him - especially while his value is at an all-time high.

I like it but that's not likely, we know from history Blake holds em for the playoffs even if they may walk.

DD has a NMC and is a Kings icon, so that's unlikely.

Love Gav but you gotta let him walk for how much he will command and his limited points.

Yeah true. Blake really needs to get the Kings to the second round which will result in him feeling the pressure to hold on to Gav. That said, if they do not plan to resign him they have a great situation going on with Doughty returning (and our D looking pretty solid) to trade Gav and pull in a key piece for the playoff run and/or future.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is why we have seen so much 11/7 lineups this season. A smart GM either locks in an extension or trades Gav prior to the deadline. Hill has done his part by ensuring other players are ready to step in for him, should he go.

Yes he has a no movement clause but with that clause comes a 7-team trade list. So he could be gone. I'd trade him and Gav and see what we can do for something special.

I'd rather the Kings get rid of Gav for nhl ready players. Although, Kings have no 2nd round picks this year. Gave it up for Tanner Jeannot ... who will probably walk. Then maybe find a trade for DD over the summer where GMs can make moves to free up space for DD.
I don't want to see DD go, but maybe it's time.
Keep Kopitar until he retires, tho, please!

If he keeps Gav and he walks it's the same as doing a trade deadline deal for a rental. Not bad, in that Blake doesn't have to give up assets. Kings don't need assets tho. they need NHL ready players who play consistent. Other than Kempe, everyone else seems streaky.
