Byfield Called Up

yup. no sooner had i declared his call up completely unlikely in the GDT, than the Kings go and announce his debut today. I hope Turc plays on his wing.

OK kid, let's see whatcha got!

With the Kings playing at home and therefore having last change, it will give TMac the chance to have a favorable match up for him (i.e. NOT against MacKinnon).

QB will play with Grundstrom and Brown tonight

Both Turcotte and Kupari are out tonight.

and with our/his luck, he'll be on covid protocol 60min prior to puck drop. ughhhh

Gotta perform to play. Hustle without results is not different than Wagner's time here.

I felt like Kupari was due a for a seat, but Turcotte has looked pretty good in his limited amount of time. If we're talking strictly production, there's a whole host of guys lining up to sit down.

I am generally not a fan of rushing guys along, but I like this move. Let’s see what QB can do.

Go Kings!!

I was surprised too. Ideally I would have liked him to show dominance in the AHL before coming up this season. Vilardi, JAD and Madden all looked closer to being ready.

Great to see him called up, though.

I would have liked to see him dominate the AHL like DryKing mentioned. Let's see if he can keep up.

If he can get production with Brown and Grundy tonight he’s better than I thought.

I am wondering if Turcotte will be the last one from his 1st round draft class to register an NHL point. Guys well down that list are already proving to be productive players on the stat sheet. Zegras, Boldy, Newhook, Tomasino to name a few.

Oh man, I was trying to avoid having these thoughts and then there they were ...

Totally forgot about Vilardi... Dont think we'll see him up this season.

Sorry. At least Brown isn’t on the first line. That old combo was ba-rutal against Tampa Bay.

I have not seen an AHL game this season. Has Byfield been dominating his opponents in that league? I am not worried about Brown and Grundstrom and please don't start souring on Byfield if he is not ready for NHL action. Preseason was preseason and now they are playing for real so it will be a totally different game.

hes been doing pretty well since returning from injury.

Byfield joins the Kings at the right time, with six points (4-2-6) from his last six games played in the AHL. Byfield had points in five straight games earlier this month, as he began to play with more and more confidence with the Reign.
