Drew Doughty Injury :(

Hope we’re .500 by Xmas.

My money is they pivot back to the 1-3-1

Clarke’s ice time just went up as did Spence’s. That could be the silver lining in this.

Blah. I thought broken ankle right away. Poor Doughty and Kings. IDK if it's "brutal" though. His leg didn't explode or anything.

Welp, I guess that means both Burroughs and Englund will both make the team for sure now. (At first I thought it'd be one or the other.)

It looked pretty bad. I broke my tib/fib at the top of my skate boot ages ago. Hence, I can't play today. Anyway, Doughty's injury looked eerily similar, albeit less graphic. (Mine was pretty bad. The bone didn't penetrate the skin but it was pretty badly "bent".)

What would be beyond a fracture - extra ligament damage? Sorry about your injury. I broke my ankle after drinking 2 AMFs and hiking and swimming and shooting (genius) in the same day and I think I rolled it at all 3 locations that day just being a smart 20 something year old once but I suppose it was just a fracture as it took about 2-4 months which is what I'm seeing online for that type of injury.

I think all of us are worried about the ligament damage possible. There's lots of tiny bones down there that can dislocate in addition to fracturing and with all the swelling they really won't know for a bit what's what.

To my understanding, a fracture is a break without splintering or dislocation. If the bones are splintered/dislocated at the point of fracture, it's considerably worse.

Full disclosure, I'm not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Blake signs a right shot veteran free agent.

Tyson Barrie, John Klingberg, Justin Schultz, Kevin Shattenkirk… all flawed players but they can help carry a portion of the load with Doughty out.

Blake already putting notes in his notebook for the end of the season press conference excuses for yet another poor season.

"Well we started this season without Drew.........

I assume Mikey will soon wear Drew’s “A”. Although Juice has earned the letter as well, I think they will go with rewarding a defenseman.

Klingberg would be a useful addition.

As I recall, Klingberg was somewhat of a disappointment in Anaheim during his ‘show me’ 1 year deal with the Ducks. They generated very little interest at the deadline for him, and then his stint last year with the Leafs lasted 14 games, before being sidelined for hip surgery. Can this guy still skate?
