Hampton Slukynsky selected to US World Championship Team

Been trying to get this in so here's as good a place as any.

I've been only following box scores and a few highlights of the games.

Macklin Celebrini has been having a hell of a tournament and to top it off is playing with Crosby a lot. He will be a much improved player next season.

Also, USA was in a way easier division and finished 2nd to Switzerland. They will have to step up their game to beat Finland.

Frank Nazar also having a great tournament. The Hawks are going to be stacked. They seem to be doing a rebuild the right way-- sell of EVERYTHING and suck for long enough to get a ton of picks. Their issue is that they need to start getting good again.

The problem is that SJ and Anaslime are doing the same thing. This is going to make things difficult for the Kings in the years to come.

Well...maybe.

Some teams rebuild for what seems like eternity and never get anywhere (Phoenix/Arizona/Utah, Buffalo, bit further back Atlanta, to an extent Islanders, it also took Oilers acquiring two generational players in order to move the needle...).

There's no guarantee that being bad for many years and picking high will result in anything more substantial than a borderline playoff team.

I’d love to take Conor Garland off Vancouver’s hands. He’s got one year left on his contract and he’s a leader, worn the A for Team USA twice, high motor with just enough skill to skate in the top 6. He’s undersized but he’s got a ton of heart.
