How do I watch the Friday game against Dallas?

Not everyone can/has streamed live NHL games, you need to know where to go. It took a while, but I developed a 6th sense on how to find NHL streams on the internet. I found 6 sites, but only one is the best, Follow bold signs and land on the dot, and I am pretty sure you won't regret it.

I never thought to run the espn+ through the apple TV app, might try it to see if the frame rate is cleaner

It works great on Apple TV. Just make sure your Internet has a high run speed.

I’m running ESPN+ through Apple TV. Looks great watching the Sharks beating the Leafs. Leafs have made a game of it as they are down by one late in the third. Sharks won again. The Kings are six points behind the Sharks, just a week into the season.

Running it through Apple TV gets me a higher frame rate and less jerky picture than through the TV. Which doesn't seem to make sense because I'd think streaming is streaming. But if it looks better, then I'm using it.

I feel like I?m closer to the action through Apple. Not sure why but the picture seems to be better, might just be me?

Agreed. I have both Roku and Apple TV and the frame rate and smoothness is generally much better on Apple probably is a better faster processor so I have something to do with that I bet

So how many Kings games are going to be on ESPN+. And when they are on Bally’s, ESPN+ will probably be blacked out in the LA market?

Yes, if Bally?s is carrying the game, then it?s blacked out on ESPN+. Same rules as the old NHL TV, which now has become ESPN+. Way better deal though. NHL tv was like $25/Month, ESPN+ is only $7/month or you can pay that bundle package for $5 more and get Hulu and Disney+ With ESPN+

I picked up the bundle about a week ago. Now when I?m out of town for work, I should be able to watch it on ESPN+.

Anyone can stream ESPN+. It's only $6.99 a month. Much easier than finding a cable system or app that has Bally Sports.

I live in the Dallas area so I am getting a kick.

Like most others, I will also recommend ESPN+. Works good, lasts long time.

ESPN+ only has some of the games.

They have a ton of games. It is true that stupidly they blackout Kings games that are on Bally Sports even though a lot of people can't get Bally Sports. But if you are a general NHL fan there are a ton of games.

ESPN+ is now what NHL TV was, with the new TV deal that ESPN signed to replace NBC. They carry all of the games except the blackout ones like watching the Kings if you are in the SoCal area. I get the full slate of games every night on it, except the blackout and nationally televised games.

Where are the nationally televised games broadcast then? For the NHL's sure makes it hard for us to wash our sport

In lieu of all that digital mumbo-jumbo, I am relying on carrier-pigeons.

The latest bird just flew in with the message that the Kings just won the 2014 Stanley Cup.

I'm having squab for dinner.

It’s really not that bad. ESPN, TNT, & NHL network carry national broadcasts. Take a look at the below link. It’ll tell you by day who is carrying what.

https://www.espn.com/nhl/schedule

What makes it bad is having to buy cable to watch the majority of the games, and then a standalone app (ESPN+) to watch the remainder. This doesn't happen for Lakers, Dodgers or USC/UCLA. On top of that not airing preseason games...the NHL has really fallen low.

Preseason games were on ESPN+. :) I'm just messing with you but there were games streamed. I subscribed a week before the season so that I could get my NHL hockey fix.

I get your point but the value for ESPN+ is super high. They are moving games to streaming just like CBS/Paramount moved the Star Trek franchise and I bet NBC moves stuff exclusively to Peacock. All of these networks need to extract an extra $5-10 per month from us. The man figured out a way to make cord cutting suck just like cable sucked. For ESPN+, i feel like I'm getting great value though. Tons of NHL games mostly matching NHL.TV, the exclusive ESPN+ games, and the + content on the ESPN website like recruiting. As cheap as I am, ESPN+ feels like a bargain compared to the AHL streaming package and other services.

Still sucks that w DirecTV Center Ice for more money and I don't get access to the ESPN+ games.
