It’s a NYT article that’s been archived. It was from back when he was playing for Columbus. It’s about his upbringing. He was raised by his grandparents & was very poor growing up. He didn’t have money for equipment so he got a lot of used hand me downs & stuff that didn’t fit or had to be repaired. So he got bullied for that. But he overcame all that to get to the KHL & then to the NHL. It’s a pretty remarkable story that I didn’t know about.
