McWhiner can only have preferential treatment by the refs and the league for so long. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy (and no, I'm not talking about the unfortunate 'Nucks victim).

I was humored yesterday hearing all the talk about Mahomes getting preferential treatment from the NFL and wished people would see how the NHL protects their star.
The Department of Player Safety has always been a disgrace and unfortunately Parros is finding a new low.
I mean, how do you have a Safety Department led by the likes of Pronger and Parros?

I'm not surprised that the NHL DoPS is a joke under Parros. They will continue to turn a blind eye on dirty plays unless they're overly blatant enough to warrant a response from them. Part of it also is Bettman's fault for letting these guys take over the DoPS, so yeah. How Bettman is still commissioner of the league for so long is something only the bigwigs of the league and Bettman can answer.
