After serving as teammates throughout Rookie Camp in Los Angeles, a pair of prized Kings prospects who were recently returned to their OHL clubs ended up facing off on Sunday. Liam Greentree put two goals past goaltender Carter George, yet that wasn’t nearly enough, as the Windsor Spitfires fell to the Attack 6-3 in Owen Sound.
There’s an interesting situation brewing, as Windsor came into the weekend undefeated thus far in 2025-26 and sat atop the OHL Power Rankings. They’re expected by many to go on a deep run this year, and could even target George in a potential trade in early January. However, with the way Owen Sound are playing, would they even entertain the idea? We’ll have to see how the next few months play out.
By the way, these two clubs will face each other three more times — and all in the next seven weeks. Ironically, their season series will be all wrapped up before George and Greentree link up once again as potential teammates, this time at Canada’s World Junior selection camp in early December.
Greentree had a power play goal, then an assist, and later added a short-handed goal. In net, George improved to 3-1 on the season after making 26 of 29 saves. For good measure, George also added an assist on Owen Sound’s sixth goal of the game.
The Spits and Attack will meet up again on Friday, Oct. 24 in Windsor. Then, during the last week of November they’ll faceoff again, once each at home and on the road.
