Late Thursday night, Kings prospect Ryan Conmy entered the NCAA transfer portal. After playing two seasons at the University of New Hampshire, the 20-year-old winger appears to be on the move.

After a highly successful freshman campaign, that saw him as one of the best first-year players in NCAA hockey for 2023-24, Conmy retuned to UNH this past season and led the Wildcats in points (33) for the second straight year. His 15 goals in 34 games also established a new personal best.

In addition, Conmy recorded an 11-game point streak this season, racking up 14 points (6G, 8A) in the process. He also posted at least one point in 25 of the 34 games played. Overall, it was an up and down season for the Wildcats, culminating in them being eliminated in the first game of Hockey East’s annual tournament, followed by missing the NCAA playoffs again.

It’s an interesting development for one of LA’s most intriguing prospects at forward. And while a final decision has been made yet regarding where he’s going next, indications are he will likely land at another Hockey East school — and one that would give him a shot at the 2026 Beanpot.

His landing spot is expected to be announced before Conmy returns to LA for Development Camp in late June. He’s impressed Kings staff during each of the past two summers, including these comments from Glen Murray last July:

“He works!” said the Kings longtime Director of Player Development. “[Conmy] has a real good shot and has a tenacity on the puck. He’ll hold onto the puck, even when there are bigger guys on him, and leaning on him. He can spin off. He’s probably done that his whole life, his whole hockey career, and he did that last year. We love the progression with him. He has a couple years of college left, but we’re looking forward to getting him in here and working with him more [down the road].”
