40+ year Kings fan here. I don?t ever recall a season playing this well on the road. 18-7-5 as of today. Anyone know what their record is for most road wins in a season?

Thank you and Go Kings!!

24-14-3 in 2009-10, although they had a slightly higher points percentage in 1974-75 when they went 20-10-10.

Thank you. Kings could easily surpass that this season.

Not so sure, they're done with their eastern trips right? Their road record against the west isn't as sterling. They go .500 and it will bring them to .63 (52 road points)

11 road games remaining:

San Jose
Anaheim
Vegas
Seattle
Vancouver
Edmonton
Calgary (2)
Colorado
Minnesota
Chicago

You’re right, some tough opponents but definitely points to be had. Not going to make any predictions because teams could look different after the trade deadline and we don’t know how long Arvidsson, Anderson, Lemieux will be out.

Seems like the boys have been on the road since the first of the year with few home games sprinkled in there. Either way, should be a fun last 24 games (as the season has been already)

Go Kings!!

Current points percentage for all road games is an astounding .683. With only 11 road games left, winning 6 would get them to 24 wins (their previous high). A new high is a definite possibility.

But I am hoping they get their **** together and finish strong at home in the 13 games left at Crypto. 14-12-2 at home is not exactly getting it done.

GKG!!!

The problem is their road record against the west right now isn't even .500. This team is outperforming on so many levels its just amazing.

Just hoping to cultivate an optimistic internal environment before all these division games happen. Just having a stretch drive to care about is exciting! It would be so cool if they actually end up in the top 3.

House money at the moment. This team is blowing the curve. I'm almost in 2014 mode where I'm just enjoying the ride. If I wasn't I'd tie my self up so bad they'd have another reason to institutionalize me.

I was going to say 75 but I couldn't figure you how to get "Hockey Reference" to get me the data. I also thought maybe 1991 would be another year they did well on the road.

In 1975 the Kings broke (or tied?) an NHL record for most wins in a row on the road at 8 (or was it 9?). That was pretty exceptional....I wonder what the record is now (non-OT wins).

That ‘91 team was something special. I thought one of the best Kings teams ever and certainly better than the ‘93 team that went to the Finals. If Craig Muni doesn’t break Sandstrom’s leg things may have ended up differently. Maybe.

This * 4,2993867 (You get my point!). Over 30 years later, and the pain of that '91 playoff series with Edmonton (3 ot losses PLUS the injuries to Sandstrom AND Kudelski - same game!) still lingers. It was better than the '93 team. The '93 Kings got hot at the right time and could score, but their defense was mediocre at best. The '91 team had much better defense and could also score. Had they remained healthy and reached the Finals, how epic a matchup with the Penguins (Wayne vs. Mario) would have been! Not sure the Kings could have prevailed, but it would have been special. (BTW, the same could be said about 1993, in terms of a Kings - Penguins matchup).

Agree with all of that. What was confounding to me is why Coach Webster decided to abandon the Granato-Gretz-Sandstrom line in favor of putting Gretz with Kurri the next season. Still bugs me to this day.

Also, Craig Muni was a turd. He took out Sandstrom and Kudelski in the same game. He also injured Audette and one other player during his career. I remember someone interviewing Coach Sather who proceeded to defend Muni after that game. Ah...Glenn Sather...one of my favorite all-time people!

1975 and 1991 are the two biggest disappointments for me as a Kings fan...

1975 was before my time as a fan (I was a baby!), but 1991 is my biggest disappointment as well. Worse than 1993, as difficult as that may seem. At least in 1993, they got to the Finals. What also made 1991 so painful was the fact that the Kings lost to the Oilers. It has been so long since they've played in the playoffs, and the current Oilers have been so bad for so long, that it's hard to imagine why that would be. However, the Kings-Oilers rivalry was uber intense in the 80's and early 90's. Nothing from today even comes close (Kings - Ducks? Give me a break).

By the way, I'm pretty sure John Muckler was the Oilers coach in 1991, FWIW.

Muckler wasn't much better but it WAS Sather they interviewed. All those guy were d**ks anyway so who was Coach or Co-Coach didn't matter much to me.

The Kings/Oiler rivalry was intense but the one they had with Calgary was exponentially worse. The series just before that with EDM vs CAL went 7 games and was easily the most heated I'd ever seen. I thought they were going to kill each other....I kind of wish they had now that I think about it. Game 6 was the one the Flames won in OT and Fleury slid on his back all the way down the ice (in EDM)...I'm sure you've seen it. Esa Tikkenen won Game 7 in OT as it turned out. Crazy....
