Kings vs Kings 9/26/21 Ontario

Anyone going? We did the $40 per ticket package, got us lower bowl seats for this event and the Reign opener. First time I will have attended both the Kings and Reign home openers in the same season.
 
might be going. have to see if the son-in-law is willing to baby sit while my daughter and I go - I'm a grandma now! whoo hoo! (baby is too little to go....only 2 months old). The upper bowl is nice there, too, so not sure where I'll sit. I wish Ontario wasn't such a trek from the West Valley....it might as well be Ontario, Canada!

Since your son-in-law is the father, it's not called baby sitting. Let him know that!
 
and, we are going! the Reign home opener ticket packs were all sold out. In fact, there weren't a lot of available tickets for the event. Oh, please let it take less than the 2 1/2 hours it took us to drive there the last time we went. (traffic from the LA County Fair made it a miserable drive - so, don't have to worry about that this time)

Hopefully you'll be ok on a Sunday...we're lucky, we only live about 20 minutes south straight down the 15. Should be fun, I think we got 6th row behind the goal for both Kings v Kings and opening night as part of the package.
 
Does anyone know what time the game starts & if it will be on the I heart app?
 
Does anyone know who is favored today? I’m guessing the Kings will be?

that was some fairly sloppy and disjointed play. Hope they get a flow going soon.

Yeah, we were there live and the most exciting thing was actually getting to be back in a nice cold hockey arena and seeing the boys on the ice...and of course meeting our own [MENTION=18518]Nyssa42[/MENTION] in person.

Lots of effort by everyone but really didn't see anything exciting or anyone standing out on the ice. Fagemo made a nice rush to the net on his goal and the vets, well, looked like vets and were generally the stronger players on the ice.

But like I said, it was just great to be back in the arena. Who knows what lies ahead this season, I'll just be happy to be back in the Stapler soon.

for sure. I would definitely have been excited just to be there, and the format was pretty cool. But im definitely looking forward to the end of preseason when we get to see a more polished team out there.
 
Can't put much stock in a game like this where it's a blender full of players who are mostly trying not to injure each other. Would have been fun to have a longer shootout like the one they did at Staples where all the players took a shot until they missed. The ice seemed "small", which means everyone was playing good defense, at least. Would have been nice to see a few more line rushes. Danault looked good - I'm not really familiar with him, so I'm glad that he stood out to me. And Kempe. I had to LOL when it came to the shootout....Kopi got quite a loud cheer, but Kempe got an even louder cheer, I think, with an obvious boost from the female voices in the crowd.

It was fun to be able to hear the players calling to each other on the ice. Heard a few times where someone was trying to trick their opponent into passing to them, lol.

Meeting LAKingSteve was definitely a highlight. Paying $16 for 2 bottles of Dasani was NOT! What the heck??
 
Obviously not a game to read a lot into, but anyone else nervous that even in these fairly open situations, this team still can't score. Our goalie prospects aren't this good.

im not reading into anything right now. And our goalie prospects looked pretty good in the rookie games. all in all, as hard as this game was to watch, im waiting until the end of pre-season to make any judgements on what to expect. Right now, there's a lot of rust getting shaken off, and mostly a rec league feel for guys playing off wings, new partners, and some changes to the system.

They need to make the goalies look good too, or else they'll all get released. ;)

But in all seriousness, this is the Kings we're talking about. They're going to fail more than they should.

im definitely concerned with what ive seen so far, but its hard to really make any assessments yet. Criticisms? They look sloppy and they still aren't scoring. Hopefully those trends get addressed quickly.

The problem is we really haven't see "the team" yet. I didn't expect a ton of scoring at the Kings V Kings game given that both sides were basically built similar both offensively and defensively. Last night vs AZ was a younger group so low expectations as well. I want to see the actual team play a few games before I start passing judgement.
