Returning for their 59th NHL season, the LA Kings 2025-26 schedule is now available. It will actually be final time they play 82 regular season games, as the entire league will move to an 84-game campaign beginning in October 2026, with a reduced preseason as well.
That’s next year, though. Everything in 2025 kicks off on October 7 vs. Colorado. Things will wrap up with LA’s last regular season home game on April 11 vs. Edmonton, followed by a three-game road trip to Seattle, Vancouver, and Calgary.
In a cadence very similar to last year, the Kings will play a road-heavy schedule to kick things off. With the final phase of Crypto.com Arena’s three-year remodeling project expected to last well into October, the team will open with 14 of their first 21 contests on the road (including eight of 12 games in October).
Things are a little more balanced over the following two months, with 26 combined games in November and December, evenly split between 13 home and road contests. That stretch also includes one of two season-long six-game road trips.
By contrast, the Kings longest homestand of the year will be seven games from late March to mid-April.
Now for a few highlights against various opponents. LA will faceoff four times against Anaheim (including a Friday-Saturday home-and-home against the Ducks in mid-January). They’ll host the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers on Nov. 6 and get a visit from the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin on Dec. 2. Additionally, early December will see a rare two-game set with the Blackhawks at home, coming Dec. 4 and 6.
Former Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov will make his only appearance in Downtown LA on Jan. 20. The Oilers come to town twice, Feb. 26 and Apr. 11 (plus a game in Alberta on Jan. 10).
Another former LA blueliner, Jordan Spence, will see the Kings twice in November, first in Ottawa on Nov. 15, followed by a visit to Southern California on Nov. 24.
Finally, former Ontario Reign bench boss Mike Stothers — recently hired as an assistant in Pittsburgh — will visit LA with Sidney Crosby and the Penguins on Oct. 16. And Marco Sturm comes to town as Boston’s new bench boss on Nov. 21.
Like last season, Saturday home games will not feature the traditional 7:30 pm start time. Instead, Saturday games this season will begin at either 1, 4, 6, or 7pm.
