Week 19 of the Prospect Tracker brought a hat trick, highlight-reel goals, and a homecoming. Jan Chovan recorded his first OHL hat trick as part of a five-goal week, while Vojtech Cihar exploded for four goals—including two must-see finishes. Carter George returned to Owen Sound for the first time since being traded, and delivered when it mattered most. The following reports cover games played through the end of day Tuesday, February 17th.

Ontario Hockey League (OHL)

Henry Brzustewicz, London Knights, RH Defenseman (31st overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 16 goals, 25 assists, minus-18, 49 PIM in 46 games played

After not getting on the scoresheet last Tuesday and ending his point streak, Brzustewicz has started another. He has points in three straight games—notching five over that span—and did so in an impressive fashion. LA’s 2025 first-round pick faced Carter George and the Soo on Wednesday, tallying three points in regulation (1G, 2A) and the game-winning goal in the shootout. The two assists came from kicking off tic-tac-toe plays, and the goal came from walking down from the point to the high slot and beating George blocker side. Then, in the shootout, he took a wide angle far-side and worked his way back to the middle, stickhandling before firing top-corner blocker side to score the game winner. The offensive blueliner now has 21 points in his last 15 games and ranks 10th in points among defensemen in the OHL.

Jan Chovan, Sudbury Wolves, Center/Right Wing (184th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 20 goals, 21 assists, minus-26, 6 PIM in 47 games played

Chovan had the best week of his debut OHL season, scoring five goals and recording his first OHL hat trick. After going pointless on Wednesday in a 4-2 loss against the Soo, he bounced back to help lead Sudbury to a 4-2 victory over Brampton—scoring the final two goals of the game to secure the win. The Slovakian center then had his best showing yet, a three-goal game and career-high four-point performance in Monday’s 6-2 victory over Niagara, finishing plus-2 with seven shots on goal. Chovan now leads the Wolves in points (41) and power-play goals (12), cementing himself as Sudbury’s most dangerous offensive weapon.

Carter George, Soo Greyhounds, Goalie (57th overall in 2024)

2025-26 Stats: 2.72 GAA, .908 SV%, 4 SO, 1 goal, 2 assists, 18 wins in 35 games played

George started two of Sault Ste. Marie’s three games this week, turning in a strong overall performance despite a mixed bag of results. On Thursday, he stopped 34 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss to London, posting a .919 save percentage in the defeat. Friday brought a return to Owen Sound—his first appearance against his former team since the trade—and George delivered when it mattered most, stopping all three shootout attempts to secure a 6-5 victory. After the final buzzer, George took a moment to embrace his former teammates and salute the Owen Sound fans—a touching farewell to the franchise where his OHL career began.

Jimmy Lombardi, Flint Firebirds, Center (125th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 29 goals, 32 assists, plus-30, 57 PIM in 54 games played

Lombardi recorded four assists in four games this week, as Flint posted a 2-2-0 record. In the two Firebirds victories, the first-line center was at his creative best. Against Guelph, he batted a chip pass out of the air and hit the trailing forward in the slot to set up the insurance goal in a 5-1 win. In Flint’s 5-0 rout of Oshawa, Lombardi kept the puck alive on the near boards with some fancy footwork, playing keep-away before sliding a pass to the point on what became the secondary assist. Despite being overtaken for the team scoring lead by linemate Kevin He, the alternate captain still ranks 10th in the OHL in goals and continues to produce at over a point-per-game pace as Flint heads into the playoff stretch.

Jared Woolley, Kitchener Rangers, LH Defenseman (164th overall in 2024)

2025-26 Stats: 11 goals, 19 assists, plus-24, 56 PIM in 54 games played

Woolley went pointless over Kitchener’s three games this week, as the Rangers posted a 2-0-1 record. The sixth-round pick extended his pointless streak to five games, though his contributions remain evident with a plus-4 rating and five shots on goal while anchoring the first pairing and logging time on both special teams units. The Rangers are getting exactly the top-tier defenseman they traded for, even if the scoresheet doesn’t always reflect it.

Western Hockey League (WHL)

Vojtech Cihar, Kelowna Rockets, Forward (59th overall in 2025)

2025-26 WHL Stats: 5 goals, 10 assists, minus-3, 6 PIM in 18 games played

Cihar has found his goal-scoring touch. After tallying just one goal in his first 14 WHL games, the second-round pick erupted for four this week. Two were highlight-reel-worthy: The first came on a penalty shot after being tripped on a drive to the net—he went wide before firing a top-corner chip shot and celebrating with a Russell Crowe “Gladiator” impression. The second saw him work past a defender with a forehand-to-backhand deke before lifting the puck back across the crease far side. Both goals are must-see plays that showcase the offensive instincts and creativity that made him a World Junior Championship MVP.

Absolutely FILTHY move by Vojtěch Čihař on the penalty shot. That’s his second WHL goal and it’s a beauty #GoKingsGo pic.twitter.com/iy0cSaAFgi

Will Sharpe, Vancouver Giants, LH Defenseman (216th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 4 goals, 18 assists, minus-12, 28 PIM in 46 games played

Sharpe went pointless for the fourth straight game, as Vancouver posted a 1-2-0 record this week. Saturday’s Valentine’s Day matchup against his former team Kelowna was anything but a romantic reunion, with the Giants falling 8-2 in the lopsided revenge game. The left-shot blueliner will look to snap his drought and find the offensive skill he’s shown in the past, as the Giants push through the second half of the season.

COLLEGE HOCKEY (NCAA)

Ryan Conmy, Boston College, Right Wing (182nd overall in 2023)

2025-26 Stats: 8 goals, 12 assists, plus-1, 8 PIM in 27 games played

Boston College split a pair of 4-2 games this week, dropping the first against Merrimack before recovering to win the second. Conmy logged his third-highest ice time of the season in the Merrimack loss before recording his 12th assist of the season in the win, crashing the net and drawing a pad save before his teammate converted on the rebound. Coming off his career-high four-assist performance in the Beanpot Championship last week, Conmy continues to generate quality chances and make things happen on the ice. With the win over Merrimack, BC moved up two spots this week in the national rankings to 12th.

Kristian Epperson, Univ. of Denver, Left Wing (88th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 9 goals, 7 assists, plus-4, 14 PIM in 33 games played

Epperson went pointless over Denver’s back-to-back sweep of Omaha, managing just one shot on goal across the two contests after firing seven in last week’s series against Colorado College. The third-round pick couldn’t replicate his opening-goal performance from a week ago as the Pioneers took care of business with a 5-2 victory on Friday and a 4-3 win on Saturday. Quiet weeks happen, especially for a freshman adjusting to the college game, and Epperson will look to bounce back when Denver returns to action against ASU this weekend.

Caeden Herrington, Univ. of Vermont, RH Defenseman (120th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 1 goal, 7 assists, minus-12, 12 PIM in 28 games played

After breaking an 11-game pointless streak last week, Herrington built momentum with two assists in the series opener against Mass.-Lowell. The fourth-round pick logged his second-highest ice time of the season despite the 4-2 loss, then went pointless as Vermont fell 5-2 in the second game. Now with three points in his last three games, the Vermont native is finding his offensive rhythm after the long drought—the production is finally matching the ice time and opportunity.

Brendan McMorrow, Univ. of Denver, Left Wing (196th overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 2 goals, 5 assists, plus-6, 4 PIM in 17 games played

McMorrow has now been sidelined for eight weeks with the finger injury he suffered blocking a shot at the World Junior Championship, and there is still no return date in sight. His return can’t come soon enough, as Denver thrives on the tenacity he brings every shift.

James Reeder, Univ. of Denver, Right Wing (198th overall in 2024)

2025-26 Stats: 8 goals, 16 assists, plus-10, 4 PIM in 33 games played

Reeder delivered a two-goal performance in Friday’s 5-2 series opener win against Omaha before adding an assist in Saturday’s 4-3 victory. His first goal came after smartly reading the play to find open ice, allowing his teammate’s forecheck recovery to spring him for a wide-open opportunity. The second came off the rush as Reeder knocked home a feed from his linemate. Denver has posted a 6-0-1 record over their last seven games, and Reeder has tallied seven points during that stretch, proving to be one of the Pioneers’ most consistent players.

After the weekend sweep, Reeder spoke to the media on the team’s mentality, saying, “Night-in and night-out, we know it’s going to be a tough game no matter where the opponent is at in the standings. That was kind of the mindset going in—no days off, no shifts off, no nights off, especially Omaha. They came in and played a great weekend against us, and luckily we were able to get both of them.” The seventh-round pick continues to show why head coach David Carle trusts him with the most ice time of any Denver forward.

Hampton Slukynsky, Western Michigan Univ., Goalie (118th overall in 2023)

2025-26 Stats: 2.37 GAA, .911 SV%, 3 SO, 2 assists, 22 wins in 30 games played

Slukynsky was solid in net this week for Western Michigan, helping the Broncos sweep Arizona State with back-to-back wins. LA’s top goalie prospect allowed just two goals in each contest, stopping 25 shots in the first game and 26 in the second as the Broncos’ offense did the heavy lifting with six and seven goals respectively. Now leading all of college hockey with 22 wins, Slukynsky also ranks third in goals-against average (2.37) and second in save percentage (.911) among goalies who have started 30 or more games. The Hobey Baker nominee continues to be one of the nation’s most dominant netminders, as Western Michigan attempts to repeat as national champions.

Jack Sparkes, Clarkson Univ., RH Defenseman (180th overall in 2022)

2025-26 Stats: 0 goals, 2 assists, minus-1, 26 PIM in 29 games played

Clarkson had no games this week, giving Sparkes time to regroup after notching his second assist of the season last week. The 6-foot-8 shutdown defenseman will look to build on that momentum and earn more ice time when Clarkson returns to action next week against Yale and Brown.

EUROPEAN LEAGUES

Petteri Rimpinen, Liiga-Kiekko-Espoo, Goalie (152nd overall in 2025)

2025-26 Stats: 2.60 GAA, .899 SV%, 2 SO, 10 wins in 28 games played

Rimpinen started both games of a back-to-back against Jukurit this week, delivering a 20-save shutout in the 1-0 victory before making 19 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss. The fifth-round pick continues to be Kiekko-Espoo’s anchor down the stretch, as the team fights to hold onto a playoff spot in Liiga.
