Probably right but I think QB didn’t find his game until about Feb. 1. Clearly less than ideal but something flipped inside of him. Since the month started he has 10 points in 6 games. 0 goals in those games but still the production is exactly what we need. And you can visually see that he’s having more impact on a shift by shift basis.

I know everyone is tired of hearing about his age but it can’t be stated loudly enough that he’s only 22 years old. If he “only” becomes a PPG 1st line Center I won’t be losing any sleep because his game away from the puck is already excellent and will only get better with experience.
All I’m holding out hope for is that he does eventually becomes a PPG player. As I’ve stated before, I think he probably will turn the corner around the 400 games played mark, similar to Adrian Kempe’s progression into a consistent production player. That said, we will be paying full price for him by that point, and our previous elite players will have all but diminished or retired altogether, so he won’t be bringing any extra value to the table, in that respect. He’s already getting paid more than Juice, which is quite ridiculous in my opinion, and given that, I presume he will be asking for well above the market price for a PPG scorer when that day actually comes.

Jake Guentzel is probably the best comp for Kempe. If Blake can get Kempe on a 7 year 63M contract like Guentzel signed in TB it’ll be a great deal for both sides.

I was actually referring to QB in a few seasons, when he finally turns that corner.

In regards to juice, I’m fine with Rob Blake paying Kempe the suggested amount above with the Guentzal comparison. He’s always been a below market value for his game, and deserves it.

With Q playing with confidence and speed, it makes sense to ride that line as long as they are producing. Put Turc on a line with Laffy and Kopi. With Moore awakening, maybe Danault will get back in a good groove. Foegele is a perfect third for those guys. Sure wish the Kings had a real 4C...
Disappointed though not surprised to see Hiller hold back on reuniting those top 3 until later in the VAN game. It was thrilling to see them out to start the PP as a 4 forward unit.c though really Spence over Kopi could have yielded better results.

As for the fourth line it’s tough to see Helenius sit but again predictable. I get it, it’s Lewis. But it’s so weird watching these guys everyone and knows shouldn’t play every game, play every game. I’d rather had Akil center that line even.
