***LA Kings @ Washington Capitals GDT 12/22/24 2:00pm on FanDuel***

Yes. It was a disappointing road trip in my view… had a chance to make a statement vs the East. Losing to NJ and Washington blew that chance.
Yeah they looked pretty lackluster for the most part, but did show that they can turn it on in the 3rd when trailing which is a very positive trait. Losing to Nashville was the worst, to me, as that is a team they should have knocked off the ice. NJ I had pegged them to win against and Wash I expected them to lose to (especially without Danault).

I think they are playing above their expected level (though my expectations coming into the season is that they would make the playoffs), but also are showing they can compete with any team except the teams that are big and fast. The Wash game is a bit concerning, though, as special teams played a very small role in the game which should have helped the Kings, given their poor PP, but they still never really seemed in it. Still, they have taken a huge step forward from last season.

I agree, I thought the Rangers win was a good victory until I realized they are in a major slump and most teams are beating them. Pitt would have been a good victory due to them winning lately, however the Kings couldn’t pull it off. Otherwise the Kings lost to all the playoff teams.

I think the Kings did better than I'd thought. Especially at the end of the trip. They got a point out of Nashville but lost in Washington....I thought they'd lose both of those. Not a bad trip at all.

Also, anyone listen to the game on the radio? Who the hell was calling the game there? I thought the Kings did simulcasts or did that change again?

Josh Schaefer was doing the PBP and Zack Dooley the Color.

I thought they did a nice job.

It took me almost a day to watch this game. I guess this loss is understandable. It’s the 2nd of back to back at the end of the road trip. Also without Danault & Moore. And the goals we gave up were super flukey. But this is why you have to beat Nashville. And why you have to win OT games. This could’ve been a great road trip but instead it just average. And I know this was an odd situation but they can’t keep going with 11/7. I don’t think it’s sustainable long term.

Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy holidays, Happy New Year to everyone.
