Longtime LAPD sergeant among 2 killed in crash on 405 Freeway
Two people were killed, including a Los Angeles police sergeant, in a crash on the 405 Freeway that prompted the closure of all southbound lanes for hours.
RIP Sgt. Shiou Deng a 26 year veteran of LAPD who was killed in an early morning traffic collision on the SB 405 Fwy near the Sepulveda Pass. Sgt. Deng rolled up on a seperate TC at around 2 AM, activated his emergency lights and was hit by another vehicle as he exited his patrol unit.
There was also another fatality of one of the other subjects involved in the original TC Sgt. Deng stopped to assist. Please say a prayer for Sgt. Deng, his family & friends and all of my brothers and sisters at LAPD.
