Opening night of the 2026 Memorial Cup did not disappoint. In addition to some Kings on Kings crime — in the form of LA prospects Jared Woolley (Kitchener) and Vojtech Cihar (Kelowna) facing off — there was also the battle for an early advantage in the short tournament. And the OHL champion Rangers wasted no time putting the other three teams on notice.
Kitchener earned a dominant 5-0 victory, including a goal and a fight from Woolley.
