Austin Stanovich has joined Mayor’s Manor for the 2025-26 hockey season and will be contributing regular columns to the site, with stories primarily covering the LA Kings. He’ll join a full staff of writers and photographers who provide comprehensive and ongoing coverage of players, coaches and management in the NHL and AHL, as well as prospects in the AHL, CHL, NCAA, and various European hockey leagues.

“For over 15 years now, Mayor’s Manor has prided itself on being the go-to source for LA Kings related news and information,” said founder and editor John Hoven. “We firmly believe our team is second-to-none, yet joining forces with somebody of Austin’s intelligence and perspective is akin to adding another first-round pick to our ever-growing group of content contributors.”

Stanovich began his career covering the Kings in 2021 for The Hockey Writers and quickly became a recognizable name in the Kings media world. With a master’s degree in specialized journalism from USC, his professional approach to written coverage helped earn him membership into the Pro Hockey Writers Association in 2023. Last year, Stanovich was selected to vote on the six major NHL Awards, including the Hart, Norris, and Calder Trophies. Now entering his fourth season as a credentialed reporter, he’ll be plying his trade at Mayor’s Manor moving forward.

“As a long time reader and admirer of Mayor’s Manor, it is an honor to have the opportunity to join the team,” Stanovich said. “With training camp nearly upon us, I’m excited to get started and look forward to sharing engaging content throughout the upcoming season.”

Born and raised in Long Beach, Stanovich was introduced to hockey by his brother as a baby and has been obsessed ever since. After graduating from Long Beach State in 2020, he transitioned from playing to writing. His debut column for Mayor’s Manor is expected to arrive later this week, just prior to about a dozen LA prospects participating in the Golden State Faceoff event.
