***Preseason Game 4 GDT Kings @ Ducks 9/30/24 7:00pm on NHL Network & BSW***

This is true. Another note, Cozens is a different story but I am actually feeling good Blake drafted Turcotte over Zegras after all. Dude coasted last season and if last night is any indication, he’s ready to do so again this year.
Zegras has a lot of talent but is soft as hell. Turcotte has always had more talent and more desire to put in the work to succeed, he just hasn't been able to stay healthy.

I think Turcotte will end up surpassing Cozens but I agree that currently he has a long way to go in order to catch up. I just hope he can manage to stay healthy and complete a full season in the NHL - the number of concussions he has already had is very worrisome.

Passing Cozens is some kind of sweet justice I can’t entertain personally, but I commend your guarded optimism there. Turcotte definitely oozes work ethic and drive, for years now. With you on that.

Zegras is not only soft but a punk. The parallels to Perry are there in that regard, except Perry’s not soft. Z will be moved from ANH eventually and unless he uses his next destination to turn it around he could be in for a quite a nose dive. And no one will care.

I think your analysis is correct and now get the distinct sense some ANH fans are growing frustrated with the kid (Z) discussing the undeniable talent-bad attitude nexus that most fans assumed he'd grow out of...He might not be a PLD level head case, but the act is beginning to wear thin.

Agreed.

I do think Zegras he has a lot of upside but he has been allowed to develop several bad habits while on a non-competitive Ducks team. If he ends up on, or the Ducks become, a competitive high discipline team which forces him to improve his 2-way game, and holds him accountable, I think he could develop into something special. My guess, though, is that he ends up have a NHL career similar to Yanic Perreault - very good at certain things and having a solid career, but always having some significant deficiencies.

I just looked at the upcoming schedule, why start season against Buffalo when the league knows that the Kings usually play horribly against them. Interesting! I smell conspiracy.
