Winners of five straight overall, the Kings currently hold the fourth-best points percentage mark (.679) in the NHL. Coming off a 2-1 OT victory in Winnipeg on Friday, coach Jim Hiller’s squad will now look to pick up points tonight in Calgary.
LA has thrived when playing on home ice, where they’ve only lost twice all season — best in the league. Meanwhile, their road mark sits at 10-8-4; not bad, just not as good as they’d like.
After Adrian Kempe helped knock off the Jets last night, the Kings have now built quite the body of work since first beating that same club just before Thanksgiving at Crypto.com Arena. In fact, they’ve been one of the hottest teams in the entire league. About a week later, Darcy Kuemper returned from injury, and he’s clearly been handling business between the pipes.
Per @PR_NHL, Darcy Kuemper (8-0-2 in 10 GP) is the fourth goaltender in franchise history with points in 10 consecutive appearances and first since Robb Stauber (10 GP from Oct. 10 to Dec. 12, 1992). pic.twitter.com/ZpcN6ejgxO

Similar to 24 hours ago, Joel Edmundson remains the biggest pregame lineup question. Although he has resumed skating in a regular-colored jersey, there hasn’t been any indication when he may return to the lineup. Last night, Hiller opted to stick with the 11+7 alignment used quite often of late, which meant that both Kyle Burroughs and Andreas Englund drew in, with the latter initially paired with Brandt Clarke. We’ll have to see how things shake out for the back-to-back. Hiller could always opt to go 12+6, regardless of Edmundson’s availability.
Statistically Speaking
— Kevin Fiala has five points (2G, 3A) over his last four visits to the Scotiabank Saddledome, dating back to Feb. 26, 2022.
— Clarke recorded his 19th assist of the season last night in Winnipeg, marking only the sixth time in franchise history that a Kings blueliner has recorded as many helpers before the midway point of a campaign at age 21 or younger.
— Defenseman Jacob Moverare enters tonight’s contest with three assists in his last four outings, dating back to Dec. 29, 2024 against Philadelphia, and played a season-high 19:11 of time-on-ice (TOI) last night in Winnipeg.

On This Day in Kings History
On January 11, 1994, the @LAKings set a franchise record for fewest shots allowed when they limited the Sharks to 10 shots on goal.
