Another day, another game.

More importantly for the Kings, Tuesday night brings another opportunity to get on some sort of a positive roll. This game against the Rangers also brings a conclusion to LA’s weeklong run of home cooking. After tonight, coach Jim Hiller and crew will be on the road for the next two weeks.

With that in mind, they’ll be looking to turn the page after losing in post-regulation three games in a row and four times in their past 10 games.

It’s really quite remarkable, and not in a good way. In fact, it’s rather bizarre. The Kings are on pace to shatter the record for most games lost after regulation. How does it keep happening?

Well, for starters, they don’t score enough in regulation to win most nights, but they defend well enough to not lose during a 60-minute contest either. While upper management continues to hunt for goal-scoring help outside the organization, Hiller’s focus remains on the current lineup of players available to play tonight. This includes forward Corey Perry, who is expected to return after missing time recently for personal reasons. Unless something changes later in the day, Anze Kopitar and Trevor Moore will likely remain sidelined for this one.

Statistically Speaking

— The Kings have an all-time record of 33-30-10-2 against the Rangers at home.

— LA has also secured points in seven of their last 10 home matchups (7-3-0) against the Rangers, dating back to Jan. 8, 2015.

— In his career, Jonathan Quick is 1-1-0 in three games against the Kings, with a goals against average of 1.18 and a save percentage of .952 in those contests.

— Kevin Fiala (699 GP) is slated to become the 41st player in franchise history to play his 700th career regular-season contest in a Kings uniform.

— Darcy Kuemper has posted a 10-4-0 record with a pair of shutouts in 14 career games played against the New York Rangers and owns a .909 save-percentage (SV%) and 2.58 goals-against average (GAA) all-time against the Original Six organization. He is one of just six active goaltenders lleague-wide with as many career victories against the Rangers.
