Boy what a disappointing effort from the Reign tonight. Claque better get his you know what in gear, he is not in the NHL yet. Team looked flat in losing effort and missing a chance to advance

How did Kupari do? Based off the stat line (-3 with 2 minor penalties) it looks like he had a rough outing as well.

Kupari had a bad game. That's being nice. He lead to 3 goals against.

The team did not cover the back door at all, again 3 goals were a direct result of that and there could have been more.
They REALLY missed Durzi. Byfield redirected a pass from Clague off the iron in ot that was OHHH so close to winning the game.
Andersson, Thomas and Fagemo stood out.

Spot on Trapper......Really liked Andersson's play

To be fair, I turned it on when it was in OT, it just seemed to me that they were coasting and giving a lackluster effort. I saw about three opportunities for the opposing team to go back door in OT, they just didn't see it. The players looked slow and I understand it was OT, however it was sudden death and an elimination game! They are young, however so are these other teams. Just disappointing to say the least. Hopefully this is a learning situation and they come back next season hungry and put forth the effort to battle and eek out a win in a game like this.

Yes, in ot, they were moving very slow and also fumbling every puck.

Glad you got to go. I was thinking the same but didn't have time. Were there a lot of people?

For those who have a subscription to The Athletic, there?s a story about the AHL Pacific Division Playoffs. It pretty much said none of the players have any interest in playing in those games since they aren?t getting paid for it and they are going to just get a division title out of it. It mentions that considering how tough the season was to play (covid, only 48% pay in minimum game season, isolation, etc.) players were looking forward to going home. Also, it mentioned not all teams are covering living expenses right now.

I can understand the lack of motivation. If they aren?t getting paid, and it?s only half of what you usually make, it would be tough for a player to be motivated to play in a beer league tournament. I?m talking about most of the vets, but I also get it if a kid like Byfield would be ready to go home. He hasn?t seen his family since he left for world juniors last year.

I'm not so sure that affected the Reign's effort as they ALL knew that all the Kings brass was there watching. Also, they came within an inch of winning. (Byfield's tip in ot)

Sorry, If that's the case I don't want any of those players who think that on my team period!!!!
