Wednesday night in Tucson, coach Marco Sturm guided is Ontario Reign squad to their second straight victory and things are starting to feel more normal again.
After playing at right wing the night prior, Kings prosect Aatu Jamsen returned to center for his club’s rematch vs. the host Roadrunners tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period with his sixth goal of the season. His move back to the middle was made possible by the return of Martin Chromiak, who had been injured last week.
Playing center to Chromiak at RW3 was fellow Kings prospect Franky Pinelli when the night began. However, he was eventually moved up to the top line with the Reign trailing 2-1 entering the final frame of regulation. Pinelli eventually scored what stood as the game winning goal for Ontario. It was his 14th goal of the season, establishing a new career high for the second-year pro.
Goaltender Pheonix Copley, who played both games of the back-to-back road set, stopped 21 of 23 shots faced in the victory.
