Don’t look now, but Reign coach Andrew Lord has his squad rolling once again. In downing the visiting Texas Stars 6-3 at Toyota Arena on Tuesday night, they also earned their third win in a row overall.

Ontario opened the scoring and held a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes. The score was 3-1 at second intermission and then newcomer Nikita Alexandrov gave the home team a 4-1 advantage. Despite Texas drawing a little closer by adding a goal of their own, the Reign finished things off with a pair of empty net goals to seal things up.

With his first multi-goal performance, the AHL rookie continues to pace all first-year Reign players in goals (6), assists (9) and points (15). Other NHL hopefuls got in on the fun, as well. It was Martin Chromiak who opened up Ontario’s attack, notching his eighth goal of the season. LA’s 2020 Draft selection now has nine points in his last nine games.

Defenseman Angus Booth chipped in with two assists on the evening and is really rounding into form after overcoming some early season injuries.

Coach Andrew Lord on Angus Booth now that he’s 100% healthy: “This is the [Booth] that I heard about. He’s really going now, and he’s really leading us back there for sure. He’s been very effective.” #GoKingsGo #ReignTrain

Booth on how Lord differentiates from Sturm: “I think the game-plan is pretty similiar. We have a few rules on breakouts and stuff like that. But other than that, they’re both good communicators, they tell you when they like and don’t like what you’re doing. That helps me a lot.…
