Manor Reign Recap: Power Play Helps Propel Ontario Over Henderson on Friday

Friday night featured Ontario’s first win of the season over Henderson. After two previous tries in their 2025-26 campaign, coach Andrew Lord’s team found the third time to be the charm.

Right out of the gates, the Reign were ready to go. Less than a minute in, the Lee-Connors-Wright line was causing havoc in front of Silver Knights goalie Carter Hart. Although they didn’t score on their first shift, it didn’t take look. On a power play soon thereafter, Lee tapped one in from the doorstep of the crease to give Ontario a 1-0 lead at Toyota Arena.

Taylor Ward added to his team-leading goal total by finding the back of the net during another man advantage early in the second period. Holding that 2-0 lead proved to be a challenge, though, as Henderson scored a pair of their own to have things tied 2-2 after 40 minutes.

About five minutes in the final frame of regulation, the Silver Knights beat Pheonix Copley again, giving them their first lead of the night.

However, Lord’s group continued to battle and eventually drew even again with just three minutes remaining in regulation, this time on a goal by defenseman Angus Booth — his first of the season.

Just one minute later, Cole Guttman scored to restore Ontario’s lead and that’s all they needed to close out another victory on home ice.

Copley had his work boots on throughout the contest, facing 14 shots in the first period and another 15 in the middle frame. He ended the evening with 35 saves on 38 shots total.

Kings prospect Martin Chromiak had two assists in the game, including a secondary helper on Booth’s game-tying goal in the third period.
