If I don't catch covid or the Japanese government doesn't change the quarantine rules before then I will be returning to my home town of Arcadia on March 26th. It'll be my first trip home in over 2 years and 7 months and although I'll be busy taking care of my elderly mother I am considering catching the Seattle game on the 28th. I still have some reservations:

- How safe is it at Staples (still call it that) regarding covid? If I catch the virus while on this trip I will not be allowed to return home to Japan and that would be EXTREMELY inconvenient.

- If for some reason, the trip is cancelled is there a way to resell the ticket online?

- You can purchase a parking pass ($28) with the ticket. Is that needed or are there cheaper places to park within a couple blocks? (Normally I would take the train but don't want to risk it with COVID)

I would love to catch a game and it would be interesting to see the new team (Seattle) but maybe it would be better just to watch it on TV.

the mask requirement is lifted now. It was about 50/50 people wearing masks the past 2 games. By March 28th, I expect even fewer people will be wearing masks. I think they will still be checking vaccination status, though, to enter Staples. The arena has been very full the past 2 games. The transmission rate in LA County is very low now.

It's pretty easy to resell tickets, although you might not get the full value of what you paid. Since that is the 2nd game vs. the Kraken that weekend I'm not sure how much demand there will be (hard to judge). You can resell them using the AXS app and also outside resellers like Stubhub or Seat Geek.

The place where I park is usually only $10, and it's just a short walk. It's $20 on the weekends or when it's a big game. I'll PM you the info....I don't want the entire world to know about my "secret spot" :)

Hope all is well with your Mother.

I personally haven't attended one single game this season and I don't plan to this season. Even when cases were kinda high, I felt like mask wearing wasn't enforced anyway (from what I see on TV and people posting all kinds of pictures on social media). I think no matter what, you're technically going to be *at risk*. Have you been able to get vaccinated in Japan yet? (My cousin lives near Tokyo and he wasn't able to get his first shot until Oct/Nov 2021, and was laughing at the stupidity he saw on the news here in America about people refusing shots when there's plenty to go around... lol) You'll probably still have to show your vaccine status so make sure you have proof. But with the state lifting mask restrictions even for the anti-vaxxers, maybe by the time the Kraken game rolls around you don't need to show your vaccine status or negative test result as it'll be more or less a "free-for-all" kind of situation.

If you don't mind sitting up in 304, I can give you my tickets. I sure as hell won't use them and I haven't listed them for sale yet. Let me know. But if you prefer the lower level and whatnot since you haven't been to Staples in awhile, I don't blame you.

Thanks for the offer on the ticket. I actually had my eye on one of those weird seats by themselves in the lower area near the tunnels. Great for a loner afraid of a virus. I?ll have to think about this for a while though. If I lived in California I wouldn?t feel that unsafe as if I catch omicron I would be okay but in my case, even if I just test positive on my way back to Japan, I would be stuck. I have been vaccinated and will get my booster on the 20th of this month. I have a feeling people are going to be pretty lax with the masks.

Slightly off topic but I'm trying to plan a trip to Italy and trying to figure out how to get back. For the testing requirement to get to the USA are you going through an airline test, airport test or in Japan is there some other way to test for the 24 hour negative test to get on the plane? All my research is kind of a hodgepodge and curious what makes sense from your angle.

Good luck getting here and I hope the visit with your Mother goes great. As for the Kings game, its a real coin toss. If getting back is absolute there's definitely a risk, but if you have travel leeway (airlines here are still allowing rescheduling for positive tests) it might lessen it.

I?m not sure yet. Apparently they also do same day testing at the airport in Japan but the idea of getting to the airport and then testing positive is scary.
