With the UFA lists not being long & the good ones already disappearing, I wonder if the Kings turn to making offer sheets to improve our team. I know there's a list out there of what kind of compensation goes to the team based on what you sign the player for. I don't know exactly but I think the Kings have all their picks in 2026, or else are missing a 2nd rounder. I also don't know if this is something that Holland would do. But he should. The other risk would be if we lose a 1st round pick & somehow we really sucked, like lottery sucked. Then we'd lose out on the chance to get Gavin McKenna. But I don't think that's going to happen, at least I hope not.
Anyway, my 1st target would be on defense. And I'd go after in this order, Bowen Byram, K'Ander Miller, & Cam York. For forwards, I don't know. I wanted Knies but he got signed. Will Cuylie would be good too. After that it's a lot of good players but nobody really jumps out. It would be funny if we got Vilardi back though. Or if we signed Mason McTavish away from the Ducks. But I think there would have to be some kind of strategy so that you target players from teams that couldn't match, which isn't the Ducks.
People could say, why don't we trade for Byram? Maybe we will. But I would rather give up some draft picks than lose a good roster player & create another hole in the lineup that we'd have to fill.
