The 2021-2022 Entry Draft Thread

This is one I wanted Kings to get and he didn't cost very much! Not for the 8th pick, but I think we could have matched a second + someone like Blais.

? The St. Louis Blues have acquired forward Pavel Buchnevich from the New York Rangers, according to Darren Dreger of TSN. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet adds that the Rangers will receive Sammy Blais and a 2022 second-round pick in return.?

That's a good deal for the Blues - agree it would have been a great pickup for the Kings and we could have beaten that offer without overpaying.

Not sure why Blake wasn't in on this one. Seems like Kempe plus a pick would've gotten it done. Too bad.

I reviewed 25 mock drafts last night, and according to the internet journalists, we should get to know Edvinsson or Clarke. The #8 pick across the 25 is broken down as follows:

7 - Edvinsson
6 - Clarke
3 - Hughes
3 - Wallstedt
3 - Guenther
2 - Johnson
1 - Sillinger

I'm happy with any of the D men or the goaltender. The forwards...I woudn't shed a tear, but I think the D talent is way better at 8.

Give me any of the top 4 d propsects or William Eklund.

Who's the "someone like Blais"? The Rangers wanted proven youngish bottom six grit and they got that in Blais. The Kings have nobody like that.

Because Kempe isn't anything like Blais and the Kings don't have anyone similar the Rangers would want.

All the reliable hockey people think it's Clarke and if he's gone it's Wallstedt.

Edvinsson is a boom or bust guy so he makes me nervous.

It's hilarious seeing the huge differences between reliable people like Button, Cosentino, Pronman, Wheeler, Wyshynski, others.

If the draft went down the way the scouts McKenzie polled, the Kings would get Hughes.

I don't know much but I do like the idea of landing Hughes, Clarke or Eklund.

if i dont have the espn app or whatever, is there somewhere i can easily watch the draft linestream?

I haven't found one. You can watch a "free preview" in the phone app for 10 minutes, so depending on how many devices you have you can watch some of it.

I'd add Johnson to that. I don't see Hughes making it that far but who knows? Should be fun.

Would love Wallstedt or Clarke.

Agreed, if the 4 D's are off the board Johnson would be a great choice (maybe even if Edvinsson is still up for grabs).

so weird to see Bettman talking and hear no one booing.
