Kings make roster moves quite a bit, some just paper transactions to save on cap space. Thought this would be a good place to add and discuss if they happen. That being said, this was announced today. Not sure if the Dewey LTIR is just a paper thing as well otherwise I'm not sure why the wouldn't have put him on LTIR right away.

From LAKings PR Twitter...

The @LAKings have made the following transactions:

Alex Turcotte (F) and Vladimir Tkachev (F) have been recalled from the @ontarioreign.

Kale Clague (D) and Austin Strand (D) have been loaned to the Reign.

Drew Doughty (D) has been moved from IR to LTIR.

probably just financial transactions. Don't the players make more salary when they are called up? So they probably try to spread the $$ love around with the players who they are wanting to stay motivated. (I could be completely wrong about that....it's just what I would do)

I believe they are sending Brown and Arvid down after his Covid stint

Andersson is apparently injured again, so that might be part of reason for the Turcotte and/or Tkachev recall.

Lias being injured again is not good news. He has been a big part of the recent successes and seems to gel well with Kopitar and Brown. The team became edgier in a good way with Andersson and Lemieux returning.

I doubt it, AA is ready to go so he will take Andersson's roster spot.

But they're sending both clague AND strand down? Do they have a 7th D on the team now?

dang it! He's the only one who laid anything close to a "big hit" last night!

Vilardi for Dermott? low cost, short term contract. Seems like a guy that can play in the bottom two pairings. Plys right side?

It’s all about maximizing the LTIR cap pool (i.e. the amount you can exceed the cap) with Doughty going on. Turc and Kasparov (heh) make more than Strang and Claude and get the Kings closer to 0 cap space, thereby giving them a few 100k more of extra cap flexibility when they put Doughty 11m on LTIR. Go read the mayors tweets for a more thorough breakdown.

that's the problem he not built to hit, as a matter of fact hardly anyone on the Kings roster is built to hit.

Agree on the low cost and strong bottom two pairing play, but my opinion is that he is not enough of a return, by himself, for Vilardi. I'm pretty biased when it comes to Vilardi, though, as I really want him to succeed long term with the Kings.

A couple interesting articles on Dermott below:
