Turcotte and a Pick!

An intrepid GM could get 75% of the assets by trading Danault (yeah he's been terrible but there are teams that will still value him...) and flip them for Ryan O.

But Holland is not intrepid and the Kings need to get younger, Ryan O is on the wrong side of it.

One more kick at the can for Kopi, and then we blow it up if Holland can’t fix it on the fly.
 
I will always associate O'Reilly with his drunk driving incident with that Tim Hortons. That is some drunkenness even by Irish standards.

He has stopped doing that, right? :p :think:
 
I feel bad for Turcotte, the last couple of games he played in, he looked like a top out on the ice being spun around. He is not Blake Lizotte.

How is Ken going to fix this team "on the fly", though? With what? There will be slim pickings on the UFA market and there are not nearly enough talented prospects in the system that he could willy nilly trade away...or bank on making the team after the retirement home submits a roll call.

There is still hope that Turcotte can be a long term and very cost controlled LW/C option. O'Reilly is already washed and will be most likely a lost asset after 1,5 seasons.

If anything - flip Danault to a 3rd team with O'Reilly coming to the Kings, in the hope that he's considerably more effective than PD.

I’m not hopeful it would work, and I don’t think we can retool. We may have to blow it up and start over just like Anaheim and San Jose did, and it will take 5 years.

This would require a complete revamp of the org. That won’t happen under Uncle Phil’s continued ownership, and would require a new owner, preferably Mark Walters, which may already be in the works.

I agree.

Therefore what is effectively just a lateral move of Danault for O'Reilly would make the most sense IMO...

Maybe someone takes Kuzmenko. Turcotte moves to QB's wing to take faceoffs.

That way not much is retracted and there is some potential gain. Any picks/prospects gained is icing on the cake.

Perry and Armia have tallied for almost as many points(24) as Turcotte, Danault, Foegele, Moore, and Kuzmenko(25). Let that sink in..

The exact reason I was compelled to check the stats this morning. Either way, it’s a terrible look for two guys who were essentially signed to be fourth liners, scoring as much as a ‘first line winger’, a top five draft pick, and an entire third line that has been fairly adept at scoring in previous seasons.
 
Sure, why not. And then after the year is over blow it all up and get rid of everyone not named Kempe, Byfield, Clark, Laferriere, Andersen and maybe Foegle and Fiala..

Out of the second group, I’d keep Foegele and Moore. Both are effective at creating chaos and give 100% each shift. Kuz puts in effort too, but his contract is up in a few months.

Turcotte and Danault are practically invisible out there. Danault especially seems to have given up. Not sure what’s going on there, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that he wants out of LA.
