It's a collision of Pacific Division juggernauts?
I can't decide if it is the bad starts or the good starts that doom us in games.

So....win today? Maybe? If it's not too much trouble perhaps?

Seems like the Kraken will reveal their mascot today?
?Hakstol getting a new job?

WAKE THE F*** UP!!!! ITS F***ING GAME DAY!!! THE LOSING STREAK COMES TO AN END TONIGHT AS WE PUT THE KINGS IN CHECKMATE!!! DONSKOI GETS A GOAL, MCCANN GETS A GOAL, JARNKROK GETS A GOAL, OLEKSIAK GETS A GOAL!!! THIS IS WHERE WE START OUR 15 GAME WIN STREAK BABY!!!
?Thank you for those inspiring words, MisterMyAnusHurts

The mascot is a BioShock Big Daddy or we riot

My high school history teacher's brother is Dustin Brown. During the Olympics we watched USA beat Russia instead of lectures

My tentacles are fully erect. LETS GO KRAKEN!!!!!

I am... whelmed.

Game

It?s fine, we are aiming for Shane Wright? then spend some money in free agency and bam cup in 5 years.
?Easy peasy

Again, puck handling is a weak point. In all fairness, I type this from my couch, under a blanket.

hey at least we're only down by one

Take a shot every time Forslund throws it over to JT and JT stays silent
?He's prepping for his transition to team mascot.

This first goal is my fault, I should've gotten baked before the game started. My bad guys.

Can we sign and dress the ice tentacle before the second period starts?
Asking for Lauzon.

Crypto.com arena is the worst stadium name in sports
?Climate pledge isn?t really better
?It sounds like furniture cleaner.

Am I the only one wondering how LA had the record it has this season?
?They have not looked great but it could also just be an off game. Or the fact that our division is still not the strongest.

And you want a mascot? How about just good hockey?

There's no puck control at all. It's like watching my grandmother try to sweep while using her walker.
?Has she been signed? We could use her.
?Yeah, sorry, she plays for the Sabres.

Can we...can we just redo the expansion draft? Shouldn't Bettman feel bad for us? I can't take another Lauzon shift

Awesome stuff from Driedger
?And decidedly not awesome defense from the rest of the team.

We?ve let LA set up a base camp in the neutral zone complete with fire pit, smoker, and inflatable hot tub.

That went from ?we have a chance!? to ?KRAKEN HOCKEY BABY!? real ****ing quick.

Post Game

You'd think we win one by accident eventually
?Maybe we aren?t bad. We are just really Good at losing.

Keep the fn mascot. I want goals.

How many kids does Hakstol have? His pull out game is weak.

I?d love to be a fly on the wall in the locker room right now
?I'm sure theres cake and a party!

^This is true...I watched their feed and silence...lol

man, clicking on those links is super depressing. Sounds like they even hate John Forslund just for having to call the games.

Like this whole exchange from the 3rd link:

I could tolerate this if this team was full of young players who have future promise and they just aren't quite ready yet but this team sucks and it's full of guys around 30 playing in an offense that is just as old

And they all look miserable.

Catch 22. If they look happy, they get criticized for not taking losing seriously. If they look upset, they get called moody.

Oh, I'm not blaming them for looking miserable.

I feel bad for them too. Seattle’s a really cool city. Some of my best college friends live there and love it.

I could totally root a little for the Kraken when they’re not playing the Kings. They’re easily the least annoying team in the Pacific.

The hated Sharks and Ducks. “Bruce There It Is” Nucks. Fans who make ANH peeps look knowledgeable in Vegas. Oilers have been a trash organization going back 10 years plus. I guess I don’t hate Calgary.

But wow, I really, really don’t like this division!

I live in OR. Everyones a major Seahawks fan. I thought with the Kraken coming out there would be at least a few hockey fans out there. Nope. People are really allergic to hockey. Tried going to sports bars a few times and had to pull teeth to get a Kraken game on one of the hundred TVs. I sorta tried to pretend to be a fan, but couldnt. Kraken is a bad name for casual people to wrap their heads around. Tickets were also 500 to that game last night last time I looked about a month ago, but Im sure that changed.

All in all... the Kraken got boned in the draft. I dont pay much attention but VGK was like an all star team year 1, and IDK if it was their fault or if something changed but the Krakens roster really blows. Something about creating a 20k person arena with a climate pledge lie also sorta annoys me, having a MSc in Environmental blablabla, but whatever, its better than bleep.com arena. As for SEA being a cool city, yes it is. I like it more than LA and POR, as far as major Pacific hubs go. Lots of fun to be had, tho I wouldnt wanna live there.

It was a really weird team composition from the start and they had quite a few high quality players who they passed on in the process. They definitely didn't have the same pre-draft trade gullibility from other teams as Vegas did, but they really should have been able to put together a team with a winning record had they been willing to pay the salary required in the process.

On the flip side, Francis did put together a solid base and now needs to focus on adding scoring talent. Beniers and Wright (if they get him) will definitely help quite a bit.

Interesting. Also a shame about OR. Don’t know how close you are to Portland and I realize it’s pretty different from the rest of the state, but I’d think it might pull in some fans because they think hockey is “quirky” or something.

Yep SEA really blew it in the draft. Made some real head scratchers. Karlsson becoming a 40 goal scorer for Vegas was crazy that first season. I don’t know if SEA was trying to unearth some hidden gems in picks like Geekie from CAR or what, but that roster is a mess. Watching their grinding, checking game against the Kings was tough. Like that’s the only way a team that bad can manage. Damage limitation and try to be opportunistic to pot in the odd goal.

I believe I mentioned this before, but a lot of my family has escaped California and moved to Oregon, mostly around the Portland area. It has gone well with everyone except one cousin. Evidently there was an issue with the Spotted Owl, and it ended up costing him his job in the timber industry as a maintenance electrician. He was forced to return to LA to work, leaving his wife and kid behind. That did not go well. She met someone else while he was in LA, and when we went home for a vacation, the house was empty and they were gone. He has subsequently relocated back to SoCal permanently.

Everyone else loves it up there and are thriving...and the photos they send are spectacular. So many trees! I'm seriously considering moving to the Corvallis area. I understand the cost of living is a fraction of what it is in LA. As long as I can get cable and still watch Kings games I'm good!

I hope Sharks don't do a WTS for the Sharks game :/

I'm 10 minutes from Corvallis. It is rather expensive compared to the surrounding areas, but nothing compared to LA. Portland is kind of a third world country right now. Legitimately unsafe. Oregon's weird because it's like sprinkles of cultural areas (liberal college towns) onto a really grumpy conservative backbone. It's a very conflicting place. I'm most definitely moving out because I don't like it here. It seems that most who do were born here and never left, or came here to retire. The weather is a nightmare, like I haven't seen the sun in 3 months. I think we get 100 days of sun a year. I only moved here out of necessity about 4 years ago, but yeah I'm moving. It's also rather cold but doesn't really get below 25-30. Summers are beautiful. Heavy retirement area. There's a strong dislike of CA "transplants", but who cares. I honestly preferred the hiking/nature in LA, places like Vasquez rocks off the 14 and everything through the 118 are super beautiful to me. But the trees here are nice, but can honestly be a bit of a drive depending on where you live, which is the same as in LA obviously. Overall, I'd say visit in the winter before you potentially decide to move :D The summers will trick you, lol.
