I don't see how the Avs aren't forced to clear a salary or two before 23-24. They're already at 69.5m with only 13 players signed.

Yep. While they did good with Makar signing, this one is difficult for them to swallow unless cap significantly increases (which I doubt it will).

They are up for a big shakeup next year, they don't have a true #1 goalie this year, either, and now they have one of the shallowest prospect pools in the NHL making replacing their expensive players with cheaper from within fairly difficult. Their window of dominance may close very soon.
