Senators' Pinto suspended 41 games for violating NHL gambling rules
They say that he didn’t bet on hockey. But there aren’t a lot of details yet. It seems the issue might have been that he had a legal account & that he let someone else use it. Which the betting companies don’t allow. They also monitor accounts of pro athletes & they spotted suspicious activity.
They need to come out & actually say what happened. A long suspension like that deserves more than vague generalities. There’s also the issue of how much money all sports are making from gambling. And maybe they want to be strict because they don’t want people to think the games are fixed. I know a bunch of NFL players have been suspended because of gambling. But all I can think of is this clip.
