***1:00pm START - LA Kings @ Columbus Blues Jackets GDT 3/9/26 >>1:00pm<< on FanDuel***

Great shot by Kempe to win the game in OT,thanks to the I forgot how to play defense in OT by Blue Jackets. It was a much needed 2 points by the Kings to put them only 1 point behind Seattle for the WC2 spot.

Congratulations to the following posters who correctly guessed within +/- 2:00 of 2:34 of the OT period:

Forsberg kept them in it early, they found some fortitude to overcome some really bad calls and an OT win? I guess these guys need more mid afternoon mid week starts?

That's Hillerous

I don't want to jinx anything, but one of the FNGs has 3 points in 2 games as a King. Seems like he was a really good trade target. Only cost us a 3rd rounder. Good job by Holland!

And some of you believe the Kings won't make the playoffs. Shame on you!
Not me baby! I even have the receipts!

In yet another alcohol-induced post, after we beat the Islanders I compared this team to 2012! You have to consume massive quantities of beer to compare those two Kings teams.

However:

Late season coaching change - Check
Team out of playoff position - Check
Made a trade for elite talent - Check
Called up some new blood - Check
Got aggressive and nasty -Check

Hmmmm...

... it ain't over till it's over. Make the playoffs and the season starts over. All you need is a hot goalie. And Forsberg was on fire today.

Just sayin'...

I'm not all the way aboard this crazy train, but Panarin is a magical mystery addition. He really would have been a valuable acquisition if so many other things hadn't gone wrong this season. Instant chemistry with Kopi and Juice. Instant upgrade on the PP, overnight upgrade on the OT plan. I was listening to the CBJ feed and they marveled at the ability to deploy the 9, 10, 11 line. Instant excitement. It's lets the other lines just be themselves and feed on scraps.

I missed the penalty. Did Byfield’s stick propel the opponent’s stick into his face? If so, the penalty is still on Q.
Can we get an official rules check on this? I feel like I’ve seen this type of call go both ways in recent years. Did it NOT used to be a penalty, and now it is?

I know. I was only joking. Sort of.

But the fact is in 2012 my wife and I were getting tickets for $6.00 each through StubHub (fees included!) to sit up in the upper 300's when we were out of playoff contention. There was no way the Kings were making the playoffs...but I had this weird gut feeling...we were going to start playing well... based on the trades and the coaching change, etc... and I told my wife "I think we may surprise some people..."

There was no chance the Kings were winning the Stanley Cup that year. Less than zero percent. There was a better chance I would be voted Miss America.

In March for $6.00 a pop, we saw the Kings win five straight games and I hadn't seen the Kings win a game in person since the Royal Rebound.

The Kings went on to dominate the playoffs and hoist Lord Stanley's Cup.

As my favourite human being that ever lived once said "Never give in...never never never never... if you're going to hell keep going."

BTW, in a shocking upset, I was not voted Miss America.
