4 Nations Face-Off

League has great momentum as the last week was amazing to watch but not to be a Debbie Downer there is no way the league can duplicate this level of play next week with say San Jose vs Ottawa so it will be interesting too see if they capitalize somehow on people who don't normally watch hockey all of a sudden watching.

DD looked good in that win and I'm looking forward for the rest of the season, even more so. For me, this 4-Nations Cup renewed my excitement for hockey. Can't wait to see what the Kings do the rest of the season.

Utah vs the Kings tomorrow night, same as USA vs Canada?

I can see Brady Tkachuk being traded to team in the USA.

Gotta give DD props, he looked like he belonged out there. Hope he brings that level of play back to the Kings.
Dewey really provided a calming steady presence to a team that was heavy on flash and a bit light on defensive structure.

I’m seeing a ton of praise for Doughty’s D partner Thomas Harley today but little appreciation for the sturdy no-nonsense safety valve next to him. Oh well. I’m just happy to get Drew back into the Kings lineup now that he’s back on top of his game.

So no let's trade Doughty now that he is hot talk? I kid, I kid, lol. :tom:

I'll say this, if Canada was going to win it, I am glad that it happened in the first OT. Imagine if it would've gone to multiple OT and the U.S. would've lost anyway. 😩

I thought maybe the low five on the way to the podium was just happenstance given the order was based on jersey number, but here is Dewey and McDavid side by side for the post game beer. Is it because of their familiarity due to being pacific division foes and regular playoff opponents the last few years? Or perhaps neither of them being particularly liked amongst their NHL peer group, so they’ve found solace in each others company? As a die hard Kings fan, and having a dislike for the Oilers that goes back way before McDavids time, I would like to think Drew has a similar distaste for the guy, but apparently not..

Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head regarding flash. DD played a solid, steady game and gave and received a few big hits but Harley gets fans excited as he is young and played much better than expected. Part of it may be that Canadians don't envision DD being on the Olympic team next year but Harley having a spot after this showing. Unsung hero or not, though, I think that would have been a much different game with DD being there to focus on defense.

I think they have a lot of respect for each other, and view one another as leaders. From what I have seen, McDavid seems to be a good teammate with a ton of passion - which would gravitate Drew to him. I thought I saw a little hesitation on Drew's low five to McDavid though, but perhaps I just wanted to see hesitation in his eyes haha.

It’s not that hard to figure out. In that moment DD and McDouche are teammates winning the championship for their country.

So a player is selected by Finland to be on their 4 nations team. He didn't play in the tournament, however, he was waived by his NHL team Utah a few days later. Crazy!

Sounded like Finland was trying to get any NHL player they could in order to compete and still did so short handed.

That said, I don't know much about him but he seems pretty decent.
